board brand of the year?
« on: December 02, 2022, 03:13:10 PM »
jumping on the shitty 'of the year' trend. who's board brand of the year?

seems like baker to me. the collective output from the team this year has been even better than baker 4 in my opinion.

even though they didn't put out a full length, i think they still take it.

as someone who wasn't ever that big a fan during their 'peak' (2005ish) it's insane to compare where baker is now to brands like zero and flip. the boss really knows what he's doing...

Genuine question, why is Limousine so beloved by skaters on the internet? I only say "on the internet" because I never hear a word about that brand at the spot, park or skate shop. Never seen a Limo board in the wild. But then when I go online it seems like the general consensus is it's the coolest brand in the world.

I'm not dissing it, I literally know nothing about them except Max Palmer rides for them I think?

I think its because Cyrus and Max are wildly popular. My local shop carries Limosine boards and my buddy who runs it tells me that they sell as well as Hockey/FA boards. I've only seen a few people riding their boards in the wild though.

Love what they put out footage wise, but I don't think it was a big year on that front.

Primitive while not a brand I'm a big fan of came out with the heaviest video, and I'm hyped on how they've given some sick Canadian's careers a 2nd life in Spenny and Wade.

they're mysterious enough that to even say you like the brand implies you are core enough to be 'in the know'

having seen how those guys act at a crowded skatepark i'm not very impressed although hugo boserup is sick.

Baker or Frog probably. If we're pulling shake junt into the mix then it's a wrap.

Shrimp Blunt is the best video this year in my opinion. The best video since Spirit Quest in my opinion.

Very core response

I don’t think it takes being core to be a fan of Cyrus Bennett or Max Palmer’s skating, style, and spot selection.  Do you?

I think implying that it’s a disingenuous attempt to be core to enjoy what Limosine is doing is pretty lame

The RIIVM vids were great.
Switched to BBS.
Turning people pro left and right. Probably the most cohesive Seiben company yet…

About to premier another vid too…

I like it because it’s a group of skaters that seem tight knit and they put out an edit with every drop. Also the crew seem to have been done dirty by Alex Olson so it’s cool to see them start something new out of the ashes of 917. It also seems to be a small operation (they showed max, Cyrus, and Aaron all packing orders on drop day) and that’s charming. They aren’t the best company but I do want them to succeed.

Enjoi gets an honorable mention regardless of the rumor-mill/current team changes. They’ve toured this year and have put out some wonderful content.

Also I’m partial to the panda cause I love my friends so eat my ass Mr. President.

baker is the obvious, but limo is a good pick - they came out swinging with content and the best team. Metal too they probably had graphic of the year, plus fred and ben c'mon

It's Baker, but I'm gonna propose that Element gets comeback brand of the year. ESP 2 was really good.
