Yeah what's the best place to sell gear for Australians? On gumtree no one wants my stuff and the fees are too high on ebay. Any Facebook groups?
I've had most luck on gumtree from Dads usually
Ebay i find i have to make shit ridiculously cheap to get a hit
Whatever money I do get from selling used shit always gets spent at skateshops anyway
I have bought quite a few bargains from eBay, Gumtree and even a couple from Facebook Marketplace, but I have also been dicked around a whole lot too, so I always take care buying and usually don't think it worth selling on any of those unless I don't mind it going for cheap or have some items that really get people going, eg one board had a few bidders that took it up over what I was expecting, but almost everything else either didn't sell or only had low offers, so I usually don't try to sell anything other than face to face now.
I think the hardest thing for anyone looking to sell is they usually have price and then post costs, which didn't work out so well with most online shops having free shipping and more often than not having discount codes or specials so it usually worked out a better deal to buy from a shop and not a private seller.
Although there have still been some very good sales on of late, I do think a lot of the really good specials are drying up a bit and it is getting harder to find some really cheap product the way it was a month or more ago.
Also prices are going up and up and up, so even with discount codes, quite often I am thinking I don't really need any more Spitfire wheels at the new price of $80 to $90 or whatever else is going, eg Indy trucks could often be found for $70 but now just under $100 or other things like decks sometimes around $60 to $70 now at least $100 and more often $130 and that is on sale, with RRP now at $150 or more.
Not complaining - I am set, but I know for anyone else looking to buy or sell, it can be a pain and I think it is only going to get more difficult for some people in some places.
