the only flip tricks you really need to show you got some sauce are kf, heelflip, 3flip, vheel, vflip, bsflip, fsflip & maybe hardflip (+fakie variations)

anything past those tricks are kinda nuanced tricks for people who really love flatground

I really want to believe switch and nollie was implied but him specifically including just fakie (the least necessary stance for flatground) makes me think that’s not the case. Post makes sense if it’s just anti-inward heel or weird cariuma shit but nollie inward heels are definitely an prerequisite for being a skilled flatground skater.

This might be a hot take maybe not but I refuse to buy baker full price. My local has them 75-80 dollars. It’s not necessarily the price but I hate that they frequently only use a top stained ply. Maybe it’s just me being silly but if I’m spending 75 bucks I want at least top and bottom stain (for that price let’s get a middle stain too). Whenever I skate a baker I start scratching the graphic and I get to that natural ply and feel like I’m skating a price point even though they’re more expensive than FA now

Some are cool. They can be fun. Just thinking about the ones I’ve seen in videos that I’ve seen IRL and realized they’re hard to skate. I appreciate them more now.

I have a least favorite color, it's "champagne". Like beige but with sparkles. Terrible.
I'm not a huge fan of green or purple, but even those have their applications.

I agree purely because I've always been horrible at any 180 flip trick where I have to flick in the same direction I'm spinning.
Except frontside flips because I do 90s' SoCal/Muska style frontside flips and I'm not sorry about it and IT'S NOT A SHUV-IT!

I kinda feel you. Though I did thoroughly enjoy watching Baker 3 as a pre teen, I never wanted any Baker shit.

Yeah, too old to care much about this early Baker days. I skate with some people ~10 years younger than me and there was nothing more important to them in 2001 than Baker. By that time, I had been working full time for three years and skating was mostly an afterthought.

Don't know if this is unpopular or not (don't actually care), but Gravette is a national treasure. Fuck I enjoy his shitty skatepark Bronson segments. He also seems super down to earth and has time for the kids. Will be buying one of his boards shortly.

There's something about Gravette that I've always really liked. I don't pay attention Creature at all except for him and I'm always stoked to see any footage from him. The nollie flip trick tip video he did years ago was great too.
