Carnivore Diet!
« on: February 07, 2023, 11:03:02 AM »
Hey Pals 44 years young. Been on a strictly meat only diet for 2 weeks. Starting to feel the benefits after having long covid for over a year and inflimation in my lungs.
Meat is rather bland by itself but man do I feel the energy and lack of hunger. So much easier to fast. Going well so far.
Anyone else gone down this meat path.
Interested in tips and personal stories.

My wife does it on and off, really helpful for her as a short term thing. I can't really add anything more to your post but good luck and I do think it is a completely natural way for humans to eat for short periods of time

So what do you eat in a day exactly

Start day with coffee with a cube of butter.
Water sometimes with salt for electrolytes.
No need for breakfast as I'm not hungry until 1pm. I will vary my lunch between a grass fed steak, bacon (nitrate free of course) and eggs, smoked salmon , mince meat, and sometimes sardines.
A bone broth is also helpful.

I had steak yesterday for lunch and dinner as it has the most nutrient rich.

The funny thing is that my family is fully vegetarian so I have to prepare a vege meal before I chow down on protein.

The best part is that I don't snack. I don't eat sugar. And I no longer fart.

Yeah it's totally natural. We hunted meat which sustained us until we hunted again. If times were lean we may have dug up some roots to chew on to survive until the next kill.

My eyes are open now to how much crap is pumped into humans through the supermarket system . It's a really bland way to eat but once you feel the benefits it outweighs your old habits.

How did you eat before you started this carnivorus thing? Could it be you’re just feeling hood because you don’t put processed foods into your body atm?
I’m all for eating healthy (which I personally don’t excel on) but I don’t think I could justify a all-meat diet for myself.

Listen.  It's like trying to clean off the canvas. I will introduce vegetables one at a time and see what works for me. But right now a very basic diet is helping my health.

Still shit . Just not as much due to not needing as much to eat. Look up the cons of fibre in your diet.

No. Not at all, except in extreme environments lie the Arctic. Hardly any society existed like this, because the energy output to hunting (which often not successful) to the energy received by mean is so low. Our ancestors, and modern peoples who live on the land mainly foraged (led mainly by women, no less) and hunted on the side.

The only other exception i know of is coastal cultures, that are lots of fish. But even they greatly subsided on ‘gathered’ food like shellfish. The whole ‘we survived on meat’ thing is fully overblown.

Fair enough point. I get it. I would say that a diet high in animal fat has plenty  of energy  as i have recently discovered. The diet is extreme and takes a real shift in mentality from the norm. I'm not trying to convert anyone I'm just seeing if anyone else had experience of it that I could learn from them.

Man, I feel like now more than ever especially on social media all these different "gurus" and whatnot are pushing different kinds of diets and there are so many anectodes from people claiming this or that diet changed their life. It can be overwhelming. I don't subscribe to any diet dogma, I just listen to my brain and body.

I lost 70lbs in 7 months and counting, literally from diet alone and not even going to a gym for one second. I eat grass fed ground beef, steak, dry pork ribs, butter, and all types of fruit. Recently started incorporating organic white rice and I noticed some improvements including sleeping more soundly. So I learned carbs are also my friend. I have never felt better in my life and when it comes to skating, it drastically improved not being inflamed and fat from eating like shit. I still drink plenty of coffee, but just black or I'll put some butter or ghee in it. It definitely has an antidepressant effect and keeps me alert and engaged. And yeah, my shits are perfectly smooth and healthy 2-3 times a day.

Yeah that's awesome. The weight loss thing is unreal. It's been dropping off me as my body is no longer trying to burn carbs for energy and has converted to fats. I look forward to introducing new things to my diet in the future.  As for mental clarity it's better than it's ever been. 20 years of antidepressants is finally feeling like it is no longer needed.

Thanks man, glad to hear it's working for you as well. I didn't even start this diet to lose weight, honestly. I was experiencing dermatographia the last few years out of nowhere and it has subsided but not entirely and I still have to take an antihistamine every day. I was also having digestive issues and extreme stomach aches. The animal-based diet thing definitely jives with my body and reversed the issues I was having. So I am sticking with it for the foreseeable future.

I'm not trying to convert anyone I'm just seeing if anyone else had experience of it that I could learn from them.

it will kill your organs and you are going to find out if you keep this up for a year and get bloodwork done. it's also irresponsible towards the climate. if every human would live like this, we'd need so much cattle, we'd probably need gasmasks, because you can't put those cattle on the carnivore diet, so they don't fart. they will do be fartin a lot. not to mention that you 100% don't eat every part of an animal. you probably alternate between a few different cuts which just means that most likely for every 125g of meat you eat, some other animal had to be slaughtered to deliver you that cut. and as long as you don't hold those animals yourself and only feed them grain(pfoooih, veggies...), any piece of meat is going to be processed in some way, that means it's curated for you to eat. and if it's not organic, it's probably ripe with all sorts of traces of hormones, medicine/antibiotics, pesticides from the stuff the animals eat, to a much higher degree than any vegetable could be because it lasts longer and gets more concentrated in meat, especially some organs.

eating only meat is barbaric and selfish. the only reason you feel better is probably because your diet before was trash, too. you're eating anabolic(high protein all the time), which in the short term makes everyone feel strong. but it's not sustainable! and you can get that protein from other sources just as easily.

there's a reason 9/10 nutritionists will think you're crazy when you ask them if meat only is a good idea, and the one who tells you to do so usually will sell you a bunch of supplements and books just so you don't die, like so many prominent proponents of carnivore diet do. i.e. mikaela peterson. the social implications can't be ignored also. there's a reason meat only diets are the favorite diet of gun toting, climate change denying, transphobic racist bigots and conservatives in search of lost manliness. it's one of their big lies that we used to eat only meat and things were so much better, along with other things like social structures or concepts that didn't exist when we lived as nomadic tribes, like marriage. the claim that we used to eat only meat is especially ludicrous, since meat simply wasn't available all the time. and while hunting for game we only accelerated or caused the extinction of said game. wo when a few hunts go wrong everyone just starved to death, refused to eat berries, potatos and just died cause no meat? we'd be long extinct if this was true.

anyways, i don't really care, if you want to only eat meat and feel great about it, ok. but don't go around here claiming it's healthy. scientifically that's a niche opinion that you shouldn't state as fact. if carnivore diet was actually healthy it would be a thing by now. but humanity tries to eat less meat because our consumption is a big problem for the whole planet. i wish you the best and hope you don't end up needing a kidney transplant or some shit.

ill be a fucking asshole here and say this: you were fat, of course you feel better after losing weight. you basically did keto for 7 months. now your eating seems to normalize, you actually eat fruits too, and now, since eating carbs, you even feel better. yeah go figure, you need those carbs. every human needs carbs, fiber, fat, protein, in certain amounts. you guys go all protein. it's powerful and makes you feel stronger and healthier than you are.

losing 70lbs in 7 months is way too fast, still congrats tho if that's what you wanted to achieve. it would have been better if you kept more weight and turned it into muscle mass tho.

i'll leave this here, too: for a large part of my 20s, i pretty much only consumed beer. i felt great for the most part, until a few years later. what i mean is just because your high energy diet makes you feel good it doesn't mean it's actually good for you.

Fuck FRANK. What do you eat to keep that rant energy up. ???keen to try it. Beef I eat comes from one local farm. It travels maybe 50km. Pork is a little different. Half the shit in the supermarket travels halfway around the world to end up in a packet for you. Animals natural habitats are killed to grow grain and vege similar to growing cattle.. There is no such thing as a vegan diet because of this. No one is perfect.

Extremely irresponsible to suggest shit like this. Let alone the goofy all meat shit which has been proven to be a scam put forth by "alpha male" influencer types.

What if I said that I have been two weeks off the booze and drugs. Would you stand up and clap like on Oprah? I'm not pushing shit on anyone .
They laughed when I told my friends that I was going to be a comedian.....well they are not laughing now!
