Unpopular opinion all of them sucked. I am old but even with a ton of nostalgia I can‘t get through any of them. The skating is good but it‘s butchered by the corny scenes inbetween and during the actual parts.

I wasn't around when they came out but I don't think I've ever been able to sit through a whole bones brigade vid. I've watched individual parts on youtube and then i'll be like 'oh i should watch the whole video' and then i'll only get through 30 minutes of it then fall asleep or something.

This is true. Last year, when I was in my unemployment blues, I went back and rewatched all the videos and both "Future Primitive" and "Bones Brigade Video Show" are excellent capsules of the era, and Lance Mountain steals both videos.

The Bones Brigade Audio Show podcast is a great listen if you are an aficienanda of these videos.

They are all my favorite, but some are more my favorite than others.

I gotta say, for being a 40 year old VHS tape, the sounds during this abandoned pool session is absolute sick.

Future Primitive was in my local video rental store growing up - I would hire it all the time just because it was the only skate video they had. I tried to offer to buy it so many times and they were never up for it. I don't think anybody else ever hired it as it was always there unless I had it.

I loved it.

Have tried to watch it in recent years and have fallen asleep. I don't think it's because it's bad or anything though, just one of those things where you've seen it hundreds of times and you think it might be nostalgic but as soon as it starts you realise you remember every single thing that happens and there's no real surprises or anything...

A friend of my brother had Animal Chin (which he had successfully bought from another video rental shop) and we borrowed/kept it for like a year. I watched the shit of that and thought it was pretty awesome too.

This was all early 2000s. To ~10 year old me it seemed like more relatable skating than the 411's for a little while.

I seriously rented Police Academy 4 over a dozen times just to rewatch this scene over and over as a kid, which is mostly Bones Brigade riders. I think it was almost $100 if you wanted to buy a new VHS movie back then or something, versus the relatively cheap $2.99 per night or something.) My mom was sick of it, but I still get goosebumps when I watch it now.

(Spade has some funny stories about the filming of this with Bones Brigade on his Fly on the Wall podcast, but I can't remember which episode.)

weird how Dave Spade skates goofy and seemed capable of pushing, tic-tac-ing etc, they use hawk as his stunt double for the tricks but then a regular footer for the shots of him skating through the mall.

These vids mostly sucked but without them cool vids would not be. Nothing with Stacy Peralta’s personality ingrained is gunna be that great.

Animal Chin is hampered by its corny script. Ban This starts off strong and even though the spinning camera tech was cool, and I obviously like the goofy Lance/Neil/O part, the video kinda drags once the Guy/Paulo/Rudy/Gabriel segment is over.
