Best first pro models
« on: May 07, 2023, 05:07:05 PM »
There’s been plenty of terrible graphics on first pro models over the years, but what are some of the ones that got it right on the first go?

For example..

people still clowning on dj for using a word that, SHOCKER, many other 26-year-olds use on the daily is so silly.  ::)

highly doubt anyone who rehashes an almost 2-year-old 9c interview has a well-rounded vocabulary or even knows about AAVE. (haven't heard anyone clown crob for pronouncing foliage as "foilage" on numerous occasions).

shut the fuck up and let people talk how they want to. grammar policing is just another form of elitism/superiority.

On a more serious note, while I think the Dick Rizzo board is probably the best (Ray Barbee is close), I personally always really liked Paul Grund's first board

Gold. The soft toy board was kinda cool though. (Despite everything, he’s crazy, but I do miss Mark).

OH damn I went to CPH Berlin 2018 and they freaking lost my bag as soon as I landed there, they authorized me to buy anything I had in the luggage.
Days went by and I started looking for boards around Berlin, didn't liked shit: sk8mafia over here, american or dwindle boards, nothing interesting really... till I went to Prague to visit a skater friend, I placed myself outside the shop right after arriving in the train, bought this Paul Grund 8.0 polar + indys + bones + whatever grip at 9.00 in the morning. I rushed to stalin and skated my ass off for days.
So good memories with this one, it traveled a lot with me and made it back home where my "old" luggage was waiting for me in the building, it got sent back at some point and I ended up with double everything: setups, shoes, shirts plus a 1000 euro payment from Lufthansa  ;D

this is a good one, i bought it to skate and snapped the nose within 30 minutes on a flatground 360 flip, the graphic was untouched so it became my first wall board

I really like Justin Henry’s first pro model. I skated it awhile ago and I still have one in plastic. I thought about hanging it up but the shapes amazing I’ll probably end up skating it.

Favorite graphic in forever. I bought a couple of the board

There are so many…
I think Jeff Kendall Atomic World is up there too.
But these are iconic to me.
