the Winkowskis gotta be the best Emerica shoe in a minute. i have wide feet, horrible ankles, and these somehow fit perfectly. really hope they keep them in the line!

could be the Omen. They've done a converse style toe cap on that shoe, but I've never seen that classic chuck colorway

I feel like sudden kick offs are their M.O. at this point. They love to take care of people with injuries and then just unceremoniously drop em . Dude just had one of the best parts in the Toy video and he’s gone?

I remember seeing photos of that Jordan Powell kid at an event for the last Romero shoe and days later announcing he is off. Why waste someone's time inviting them to events/demo like that?

Can't speak for the Leabres situation but I had no plans of kicking Jpow off or any of the other riders after the Romero Skater release event let alone any time in the near future but Jpow getting kicked off as well as several other riders happened immediately after I was let go unfortunately.

Is there really even a strategy to any of these decisions or are they purely budgetary? I don't know realistically what they're going to do long term. We're at the point where it seems like many shops are narrowing their offerings and carrying less stuff, I don't know how Emerica in 2024 fits into what shops are looking to offer customers. I mean is the plan to go direct to consumer and just cut out the middleman? Wait it out for the inevitable late 2000s nostalgia to kick in? I don't know what they're going to be offering, are they just doing budget shoes?

They bring in consultants to unceremoniously make cuts, your classic scummy corporate America bullshit just shrouded in the concept of 'skater owned'.

New shoe for Hoban coming soon. I wonder what route they took for the shoe as it seems like he mostly skates the slip ons

Are we really expecting anything other than a variation of the romero, dickson, or a cupsole version of those silhouettes? Anyways, he posted a teaser image and it has laces.

I'm more thinking it looks like that Wes Kramer shoe. But with a stitched toecap and more complicated collar.

Both are SD boys, and Braden's the right age that I bet he was a Wes fan from a young age.

Sounds like it's exactly what Braden wanted, in terms of design, from this interview with the designer at Emerica. Lots of times if a skater gets exactly what they want... it ends up not pushing the style or innovation barometer. But I bet it skates great... I recently skated the Provost on that same vulc chassis, and it was great! Better than other vulc shoes I've skated in the last few years.

Many versions of that Wes shoe just had regular suede on the toe panels just like the Hoban.
And yeah they're probably perfectly fine skate shoes for people that want that sort of thing.

"Are there new trends to be aware of for next season?
We see color beyond black-and-white skate shoes trending in skate footwear. This season we have put a focus on bringing more interesting colorways to the line while still keeping it wearable and true to Emerica. We continue to see the 90’s and early 00’s trend resonating with skaters across generations. Rest assured there’s plenty of nostalgic flavor represented in this season’s line to satisfy skaters of all ages."

This made it sound like Emerica just discovered that people like colorways other than black and white. I lol'd.

Are you introducing any new technology this season?
Yes. The Hoban will feature Enduraseam technology, which is a rolled edge toe cap with triple stitching.No.
