Unfuckingbelievable! This really bums me out! Everytime I rock Emericas producing shit goes down! Im rocking the KSLs right now and have been shooting some mad good shit but also skating really good. (Atleast way better than usual). So I'm definitely bummed on not having a legit Emerica cupsole coming out. :'(.

I'm betting it does have the G6 sole. Seems more likely SPOT got their shipment, took photos, then posted it to IG.  It would be strange for SPOT to take pics of a sample a year ago when it was stated to have the G6 sole, Emerica switches to EVA sole and then SPOT uploads a year+ old pics to IG.

Yes that's why I posted that. That is the Spanky Hi page from the FA24 catalog. As you can see, it says EVA midsole and there is no cutout at all on the sole. That was the prebook catalog for shops. I suppose there is some slight chance that SPOT got ones with the G6 sole but considering there's been lots of talk on here about them changing the G6 to EVA that's probably not the chance.

Although we didn't order them so we don't have them in hand so maybe they changed from EVA in the catalog to G6 in production but that's doubtful.

This is a genuine question, how big of a difference would the EVA midsole be from G6? I get that it's a downgrade, but how much of a downgrade are we talking about? I don't think I've ever skated a cupsole with EVA before. I'm pretty sure I've only skated cupsoles with some kind of brand specific foam, like NBs and G6s, or ones with no foam at all, like Vans Wafflecups.

G6 is just a comercial name for a kind of EVA.
Just like BOOST is a comercial name for TPU.

But i'm sure the generic EVAs gonna be worst. They at least could use one with a good density and some responsiveness.

Interesting. Yeah I just looked at SP25 and the picture of the sole has the little cut out with green foam underneath but the description says "full EVA midsole". So I guess who the fuck knows ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Are you suggesting Emerica use the G6 foam as a drop in midsole like how Vans do the wafflecup or like Nike with react on the ishods and leo bakers? That would definitely be a cheaper way of incorporating the G6 but the problem is those drop in midsoles lack support and I don't trust sole tech to add a better heel counter or shank to compensate.

I like them, the midsole isn’t as soft and springy as the g6 foam but maybe after time it’ll soften up. Still comfy tho. Fits just like the spanky low. I got my usual size in emerica (I like em snug). all in all I think they did a good job of keeping the look and fit of the G6. If saving money without sacrificing quality was the goal I think they did a good job. Hell they’re even cheaper than the lows
