Do u think u can tell the difference between G6 and a good EVA just by squeezing?

Is G6 not a polyurethane whereas EVA would be airblown? I can definitely feel the difference with a squeeze test PU has better rebound and less pack out/memory, whereas a nice EVA still feels damper if that makes sense.
I don’t know if I’d be able to squeeze the cupsole it’s incased in and tell but if you took the insole out and squeezed the footbed it would probably be more noticeable. I also skated Spankys once and they felt too stiff and too high off my board, I don’t think an EVA insert would make them worse as I’ve skated 440’s which have an EVA wedge and those broke in much nicer imo.

Is the toe on the spankys al long as the figgys? Love the g6 but the figgy toe is just a bit too long for me doesn't feel as snug as I like. I do see it has extra eyelets

Curious on this to...

I tried on the Leo "Skaters" today and to my surprise they are pretty good for wide feet folks. Extremely thin feeling even though its a cupsole.

Will wait for the Spanky Hi's

Alternating between pairs of each I can say the spanky (low) seems to have a stubbier toe.

Hoping the highs stay the same way

Yeah and right next to it they’ve got the Hoban G6.

That floppy piece of shit, they probably both just have a G6 insole and that’s their claim.

Or tactics just doesn’t know

To deepen the mystery, Holistic has the Spanky His up on their website with the EVA midsole in the description and no green window of foam in their pictures...

Rebranding g6 into empact would actually be crazy

I already know There’s going to be empact on shoes (like the mute) but it’s only placed on the heel

If empact was g6 they’re putting less of it onto our shoes

If that were the case, that would be sad

Sorry to report the spanky hi’s do not have g6 foam. Mine came in today they have the g6 sole but not the pour in g6 it’s just colored eva. Couldn’t upload the photo for the comparison but here’s the link https://ibb.co/qY6KWQ7
Left photo is the wino g6 cup, one on the right is the spanky hi, and the bottom is the tag that comes with a shoe that does have g6 this one came from my figgy g6.

Skatewarehouse.com has the Spanky hi and they took their own product shots, looks like emerica actually removed the small G6 branding on the sole since Spanky hi (as far as we know right now, which seems to be true) isnt using G6 and is using a slime green EVA

That’s pretty sad when it becomes too expensive for a brand to use tech they “designed” and marketed and made into one of their defining features. The shoes are just dogshit at this point.

esp. when they put all that money/ R&D into the phocus (even though it was nothing like the OG) and its outsole and then did nothing with it...
I'm afraid this may indeed be the end for them.

How is the sizing on the Spanky Hi? I'm 9 in Vans/LRAB/CONS vulc shoes, but 9.5-10 for padded cupsoles. "Usual size in Emerica" doesn't help because none of my locals carry the brand. I'm trying to snag a pair from Plus or SPoT before they sell out.

Thanks in advance.

Sizing questions are very relative and imo not worth trusting someone else’s preference. I get emericas a half size down but you will get just as many ppl or more telling you tts and/or half size up. You just gotta take the risk and try the shoe on for yourself, even if that means returning a pair for the size that fits you the way you like them to fit.

You have a pair now, don’t you? Would you say they’re the same fit as the Spanky G6?

They feel just like the lows in sizing, but better for support. The toe is like the figgy, but adding the high top makes it different looking down at it.

@Scab Picker What're your sizes in other brands? Lakai, adidas sambas, etc.? I'm consistently a 10.5 in Emerica and most other brands, including the Spanky G6 low (which fits like the highs), Ellington's Li-Nings, Lakai, adidas sambas (which are thin), and NB.

I’m 9.5 in Adidas/NB#/DC. The silhouette of the Spanky Hi resembles vulcs I’ve skated, which I get in my dress shoe size: 9.0. However, it is a cupsole, so I was leaning towards 9.5.

Thanks for the help, @oyolar. I went with my Adidas size. Worst-case scenario, I’ll have to use thicker socks with these.

What does it mean? Have we been lied to?

[close]

We have not been lied too mine came I today and they look just like this
[close]

Not to be that guy but they can color regular ass EVA foam which is what they did here.  It was confirmed ages ago these were gonna have the same sole but regular EVA foam not G6
[close]

No one’s is saying it’s G6 guy, just confirming that it looks like the photo
[close]

@YeoWhattup how do you like them? Give us some details/sizing/review? Im ready to buy these are soon as I can find a 9.5
[close]

I like them, the midsole isn’t as soft and springy as the g6 foam but maybe after time it’ll soften up. Still comfy tho. Fits just like the spanky low. I got my usual size in emerica (I like em snug). all in all I think they did a good job of keeping the look and fit of the G6. If saving money without sacrificing quality was the goal I think they did a good job. Hell they’re even cheaper than the lows
