Very happy with this. That black pair is basically all I’ve wanted in a skate shoe and it’s nice I get to support Spanky while I’m at it

I’m with you there. Loving the navy ones, but I’ll definitely grab a few pairs of the black/white when they drop.

They should just let Spanky run the company

Is the new Spanky shoe replacing the Spanky Hi, or will both of them be in the lineup?

They’ve already been making the makeup in a low for years

Seems like natural progression to release a new pro model, the 3

I get it being so solid of a model, why not keep it in and reduce the team models

Curious to why Emerica isn’t selling the figgys anymore, to anyone who has skated them, you know it’s a really good skate shoe

I think it just boils down to they can't pay the royalties to support keeping the shoes in line. Hence why they apparently have to take one Spanky shoe away to put out the new one. As good as those models are, no one is buying them.

The most recent version had the pour-in G6 sole and they phased that out of the standard line-up because it was too expensive.

That was one of my favorite shoes of all time. Skated 5 pairs of the all black ones, down to my last pair of the black with white sole and I’m bummed. Can’t find my size anywhere else. Would have loved it if they cut all the bullshit team models except for the slip on and just kept the figgy going. Also I would think it doesn’t help they keep giving other dudes pro models that nobody is asking for. I think we would all be fine if provost, winkowski, and servold all didn’t get a pro model and shit like the figgy g6 and spanky hi could stay in the lineup.

Even if they Spanly’d the Figgy, kept it a little beefier than the original non-g6 version that came out 15 years ago, and even took out the g6… it’d still be a fantastic shoe.

I’ve got the Spanky His right now (first pair of Emericas in like 20 yrs probably). I really like them and hope they stay in production with some more colorways. I think I’ve seen Spanky rocking a plain black/white pair on Instagram.

What’s the boardfeel on them like. Same as the low. I am between these and the Crocketts.

Pretty similar. The midsole is a tad firmer than the low version, but it’s still good!

Pretty ideal for me. Not too much (pain) and not too little. Such a shame they’re apparently canning the model after two seasons, just asinine really but I’ll enjoy them while they’re around

The last few colourways are perfect, though. I’m definitely going to stock up as soon as the Spring drop lands.

I assumed he did due to Patrick Franklin and Stu Kirst rocking emericas recently

I don’t think it’s old news, it just hasn’t been discussed much.   I think he’s spearheading the move away from the Green/Black branding of the past 20 years

Still several of the new models and colorways for Spring ‘25 using the green/black motif. I wonder if Spanky is really in it till the bitter end or if he’s still got an exit plan as has been speculated a lot here

From what I understand from a few years ago, half the company wanted to move away from that and the other half wanted to stay the course.
