Got the mutes a few weeks ago and really wanted to like them and gave them a solid college try but ended up hating them. Didnt like the fit or feel shoe looks great though.

They're Emericas, that's the reason.
Sir, I'm going to politely, but firmly, ask you and your common sense to leave this establishment.

Didn't want to start another thread but a Jon Minor vice doc is coming soon.
"Everyone was making 200-300 grand" from Heath. Wild to think they were pulling that. I could see that just being him and Reynold's salaries and Heath just assumed it was everyone.

Spanky hi Lottie’s are fire. Look really good.

Spanky does an awesome job wearing the shoes, looking good while doing it. Constantly pushing out unique content

Those Spanky hi x Lotties definitely look good.  Anyone heard or seen anything recently about the next KSL that was revealed on here a while back?  Can't wait to see more details on that.

The design is good. But the product looks cheap in that pic.

Yeah these are sick. Will grab a vegan cw if they put one out.

Good looking shoe.  $10 cheaper than the MJ, and this actually has a midsole and what they are calling the heel pod.
[close]

I grabbed a pair, they don't have a full length midsole despite what the product description says.  Just the EVA foam section under the heel.  Insole is... fine its EVA, thicker than you get with an Accel but nothing special.

Overall construction feels good though and the shoe looks and fits great FWIW

A little miffed about the lack of a full length midsole but as long as the heel is covered I'm fine with it to skate in.

Ok I have about 20 or so hours of skating in on the Mutes.
They really do skate great and they are holding together extremely well.
The lack of a midsole however is really a killer though.  As someone pushing 40 my feet ache the next day if I do anything more than flatground.

The heel pod, whatever the fuck they are calling that foam, is excellent.  It's all in the forefoot where I have pain problems.
If the whole midsole was that same foam these would probably end up being my go to shoe moving forward.  Since that isn't the case I'll never buy another pair to skate, I may grab another as chillers because I do love the look of them.

I have a pair of FP insoles that I got for free that I'm going to throw in them until the shoe dies otherwise my body just wouldn't let me skate them.

I could be wrong, but I’m pretty sure the Spanky Hi uses the same foam as the Mutes, except that’s a full length midsole.
The Spanky Hi is my new go-to shoe, will the stocking up on as many pairs as possible.

No worries. Shame the Mute isn’t a full length midsole as the shoe looks great from your photos.

Did you ever try to old G6 versions?

I’m curious how their new foam holds up

I’d say it holds up just fine, pretty much the same feel if you ask me, just a thinner shoe. But it’s also so comfortable

The Lotties collab is the last colourway. I’d grab as many pairs of the navy, black/tan and Lotties as you can!

Stopping production as soon as a following hits. Classic emerica. I think the marketing was working. Saw two people at the park last night in the spanky his. I haven’t seen emericas locally on anyone that didnt get flowed them for at least a couple years before yesterday

with emerica not being transparent about their product yet again no wonder they are struggling.

do i remember correctly with the MJ1 reissue where they claimed full lenght midsole to then just cheap out and do that eggcrate shit?
just checked the emerica euro site and they still claim full lenght midsole on the mute.

you know, i'd love to skate some emericas (mutes look dope, so do the upcoming spanky shoes) but if the quality and materials ain't there plus they are kicking off people the way they do and then still do feel stagnant brand image wise i can't help them.

it just don't make sense to me to spend 94€ on the (no midsole ass-)mutes when i can find tiagos for 100€ retail.
i know that one might argue that NB has different/ more resources since they are one of the largest shoe brands. But sole tech once was on top of the tech shit in shoes but decided to go cash out on cheaping down vulcs for a decade. then they are wondering why they can't compete. short sighted.

and as cool as i thing the spanky highs are, they are just not my aesthetic. lows skated pretty solid a few years back.

I mean I get it, but I’m skating the spanky HI’s right now and I have no complaints on the sole, but I’m assuming you’re like jumping down sets and rails right? Because yeah if so then maybe put in a new insole? But outside of that, it’s actually a comfortable shoe with good board feel and my feet hurt no less than if I was skating a NB

It sucks because the Mutes are 85 bucks, throw a full length midsole in and sell em for what 88 bucks?

It's not going to be a price difference that causes someone to not buy the shoe for a big jump in quality.
