how could anyone care about this crap anymore
I kind of agree, honestly either buy the shoes or don't. you know what you're getting when you see the name of the brand.
I buy emerica's pretty often and I'm in my mid 30's and I'd say they are comfier than most out there, either support it or get a new balance if you're going to complain about insole bullshit.

I think the issue that people are having is just with how they are labeling their shoes when they promote them vs. what we actually end up with as a product. True for the MJ1 reissue and the mute … soletech have always been pretty bad at labeling their products correctly though; in the same catalog, they will list a shoe as vegan and then later state it’s suede 🤦‍♂️

yes (but not the old G6 foam, apparently it’s a cheaper version?)

with emerica not being transparent about their product yet again no wonder they are struggling.

do i remember correctly with the MJ1 reissue where they claimed full lenght midsole to then just cheap out and do that eggcrate shit?
just checked the emerica euro site and they still claim full lenght midsole on the mute.

you know, i'd love to skate some emericas (mutes look dope, so do the upcoming spanky shoes) but if the quality and materials ain't there plus they are kicking off people the way they do and then still do feel stagnant brand image wise i can't help them.

it just don't make sense to me to spend 94€ on the (no midsole ass-)mutes when i can find tiagos for 100€ retail.
i know that one might argue that NB has different/ more resources since they are one of the largest shoe brands. But sole tech once was on top of the tech shit in shoes but decided to go cash out on cheaping down vulcs for a decade. then they are wondering why they can't compete. short sighted.

and as cool as i thing the spanky highs are, they are just not my aesthetic. lows skated pretty solid a few years back.
[close]
I mean I get it, but I’m skating the spanky HI’s right now and I have no complaints on the sole, but I’m assuming you’re like jumping down sets and rails right? Because yeah if so then maybe put in a new insole? But outside of that, it’s actually a comfortable shoe with good board feel and my feet hurt no less than if I was skating a NB

no no, as i wrote above i liked the spanky lows quite a bit, it's a great shoe. my point was that the mutes would be right up my alley look wise. i like the design but a full lenght midsole is just mandatory for me in shoes. i do not skate any high impact shit but i feel a difference between a well padded shoe and a not so well padded one being in my late thirties.

i am aware that i can just buy what i like from another brand. my point was that i personally think it's just kinda wild to state you have a certain technology in a shoe and then just cheap out and not have it!

simple as that.

Honestly some shoes that are full midsole *1010, Joslin, ksl* sometimes would pain my feet and knees and egg crates like *etnies snake, cons fastbreak* don’t have that issue. It’s up to the feet and wearers comfort and needs honestly. I’m no snob to “core” or “corpo” I’ll wear whatever, I just want them to work on my feet and not cause pain.

How’s this?

If you could bring back a Emerica model that you really liked what would it be?

And let’s think outside the box, I know y’all are gonna skate Ellingtons or Reynolds,

My pick is the first hsu, the Francis, and Romero 2’s

Westgate G6 is the answer.
Sir, I'm going to politely, but firmly, ask you and your common sense to leave this establishment.

Didnt someone mention spanky his are going away in a season or two? Don’t fall in love with any product they make because it will most likely go away for no reason other than to make room for some other design that will most likely also disappear quickly

All the talk of bringing back old shoes with only a few pages that have anything interesting about the new models shows exactly why this brand is a rotting corpse.

A few years ago they (or Jamie) cancelled a revamp of the Jamie Thomas pro shoe which I think is my favorite emerica shoe ever.

Unless you love the Low Vulc, then you get an insane amount of colorways every season. Never seen that shoe in the wild.

Always wanted these but never got them:

Loved these potatoes:

And I'd love an og pair of Reynolds 3s, not the slimmed down remake. But mostly as a novelty. They're just such a weird shoe.

Reynolds said in one of those NB shoe interviews that he only skated the 3's for one session during a stair jumping session. He either is lying or it was the same day because the only footage of him in those is the back ng across the courthouse ledge in Baker 3. No real point, this is just the only place I could share that knowledge.
