To me every Emerica shoe looks the same so I'm consistently confused.

Like 2 and a half weeks ago I noticed a lot of the shoes on the site were mad discounted, like the “Cadence” was knocked down to 27 dollars, and the “Hoban” was and I think still is 40 dollars. I grabbed 3 pairs for cheap with that discount code they are always slingin around. So when I heard they were about to drop something new I was pissed, until I saw the shoe. The color ways are cool, I think? But the shoe alone is trash set on copy and paste.

I said it before in here, but the Emerica Mocas are just SB Blazer Lows but by Emerica. Same thing as One Star, Lakai Newports, etc.

Is it groundbreaking? No, but it's a silhouette many like (& should sell in theory) so it makes they'd do a "filler" model like this between anything new or reissue

To get in on this, they look like the OG Emerica Leo’s - that had the Mexican flag and the two stripes.

So much inane chat about a generic Emerica vulc. I don't remember anyone pontificating nearly as much when they released the Temple

Also don’t understand why everyone holds smaller companies like Emerica to such high standards while gladly paying $100+ to Nike or Cons for the same basketball shoes they’ve been selling for decades

The answer is really easy: They use to make good shoes, now they don't.

I respectfully disagree. I think people tend to put the 90s-00s era of core brand shoes on a pedestal and misremember the quality level we were getting back then. There have been some misses of course, as with any brand, but I still think the trajectory has been mostly improving quality. These companies simply do not have the budget of major shoe corporations and it’s not ever going to be apples to apples in terms of quality, but I’d still rather support the new scrappy version of Emerica and see what they do with their new direction rather than give more to the massive corporations responsible for sucking the last bit of soul out of skateboarding. FWIW I really like the Mute reissue and KSL III, they’re both great cupsole models that’ve been comfy and held up great for me which have made me a fan of what they’re doing nowadays.

What were the last pair you skated? Because in all honesty most emericas fit better than most Nikes

The Dickson and spankys fit way better than blazers and janoskis

Almost any of the a G6 cupsoles  competed (easily) with the quality of Nike/Adidas/NB/etc. comparable models. Aesthetically pleasing or not.

OG-1 feels like a more boardfeely & nimble version of the Accel OG before the Accel '95 dropped to be a better version of the Accel OG. Flicks extremely well, and is pretty damn durable. Goes a little soft in the sole structure quicker than I'd prefer, tho. NEEDS an insole swap if you're gonna skate them, though.

Spanky Hi is an excellent cupsole, with or without G6. Fits well, looks understated, skates well, and lasts long.

Dickson was a great simple vulc alternative to any Janoski/Era/306/Buesnitz 2, etc. Close in terms of flick, durability, and comfort

KSL G6 Not the best looking to everyone, but skated extremely well, durable, flicked well, and held its structure for a long time. Some didn't like the *lack* of boardfeel in G6 soles, but that's subjective

Mute & KSL 3 feel like a solid version of classic meets new. Both feel comfortable on foot & seem to skate well from what I've seen. Plus, they look good in footage & fit in aesthetically with Cons/Nike cupsoles we're used to seeing

Emerica has put out actual quality skateable shoes in recent years,  but for some they've denounced them. Especially for the price point they were primarily listed at. They've been far more "wide foot" friendly than the big athletic brands have been, and that's a huge plus in my eyes. I'll keep skating them as long as they work for my needs

I have Hoban G6 Cup slip-ons for casual shoes. They have BH initials on the side (makes sense) but also a big "G" on the back heel. What does that "G" stand for? Is it "G6"?

It was just a personal touch Braden wanted. He used to say “G” frequently and asked the product team to add a G to the heel for that reason.

Probably OG 1 and before that it would be the last Westage shoe. The Westgate CC?

Looks like the EE is actually coming back, sample round 2? I wonder if its still emerica or maybe HRS or hours is yours? Regardless super stoked and will definitely stock up especially if they do any two toned colorways

I have a pair of these plus one on ice, my dude. Loved this cw and the slip cup is legendary! That said I also never knew what the G signified, and my assumption was the same as yours.

His bro style bob dylan clone friends call him "G."

I don't recall where I got this from but I am sure this is 100% true.
