This was awesome! Really deep level of knowledge, but it never felt like a lecture. Great job Thrasher and Ted!

That was awesome. Loved the detail about the axle marks in the bricks.

Missed opportunity for a Norm Abram reference tho

This was so good. Love how it gets dark as they're walking around EMB. Like ted was waxing poetic about the spot for hours haha

That was great. I finally got the chance to go to SF about 7 years ago. I took the BART from the airport straight to Embarcadero and just walked around trying to remember all the shit I watched growing up skating. Then I walked to Pier 7, China Banks and took an Uber to Wallenberg before going to meet my girl at the time in Berkeley. That shit was way more important

Damn I need to do this

only went there one time in '96 or '97 and couldn't even skate it because there was a large ice skating rink set up with a prominent police presence

all the action had migrated a few blocks over to Pier 7 by then

also, theres's a trailer up for the season -- looks like there's episodes on Hubba, the Bay Blocks & Pier 7 as well

Yeah, they really did something special with this one. A perfect combo of skate history, architecture history, and nostalgia for a time that I wasn't even around for. I'm stoked to hear that there's more on the way already.

I always trip out that the heyday of EMB was early in street skating's history but the ledges there are actually pretty high. Especially if you're skating the bigger ledge beside the big 7 and of course the stage ledge above. Seems like as skating progressed, the ledges got smaller and smaller. In Virtual Reality they're all skating basically curbs. Early street skating is not exactly synonymous with tricks being popped very high so it's crazy they were skating these legit sized ledges and doing tech shit on them back then.

Also skating with almost no wax. That's fucked.

Great job, Ted.  Loved his analogy to the Giving Tree, "Like an Old Stump that keeps on giving."

The EMB architectural model cameo in Bullitt is too good. This could've been stretched out to a half hour and I still wouldn't have wanted it to end.

This was great, love this kinda shit.

EMB seems like a wasteland these days, why dont they just put all the blocks back and make it a skatepark?

This old ledge
Looked so fun
Frontside crook
Then broke my thumb
On a slipped out switch back
Tail I almost died
Came up short
And lost my pride

Daher did some wild shit goofing around.  He did some tailslide ollie Japan air out on a ledge that was mind blowing.  Super underrated

I love when skateboarding is combined with knowledge/intelligence.

Did the Alcoa building get a fresh coat of black?   Don’t remember it being that dark
