So dumb "don't think of the typical meaning of slave, think of it the other way...and that's $lave"
Cool.
[close]

Valid opinion, but I respectfully disagree with the viewpoint it's lame. I think Heroin and $lave are some of the sickest brands with the coolest art direction. Skateboarding is as addictive as a drug, and we are all kind of slaves in a capitalistic society if you're not at the top. I appreciate the existentialism in the concepts. It's where my teenage angst blossomed into.
[close]

Then why not use $heep...$lave just sounds lame as fuck
[close]

Sheep is actually ABD
It was a price point shoe brand spun off of Etnies in '97

Kind of a sick name though, I would ride a $heep board too.

Don’t remember it being price point more than Vegan.   The Sheep Ed’s at least were priced like a normal shoe
[close]

It was supposed to be Price Point but whatever the material they used for the vegan shoes and I think canvas have higher tariffs then suede and leather, so the shoes actually ended up costing more on the back end. I worked at a skate shop then and I think another part of their failure was Sole Tech had 4 companies running at that time and unless you were like a mail order shop that's a lot of shoes to stock, I think my shop would carry Accels then 1-2 ES pro models 2 basic Emericas and maybe 1 sheep shoe. I'm gonna say most of Sole tech was propped up on sales of Accels at the time, Sheep just added more payroll really. I also seem to remember there was some crossover shoes that were made on both brands and that was also kinda confusing for customers
sheep should have just been a special branding for vegan shoes that is shared across brands. I think that's actually close to what they're doing nowadays. market was somewhat limited back then for vegan, especially compared with now. they had pretty sick marketing in retrospect. One of those little oddities that always comes to mind. What other brands did you guys have come and go?

You just bought Jamie an “M” for his next Misfits tattoo.  Just need six more buyers and he’ll be in business…

Thinking of pitching a brand to Jamie called it "Adolf".

But it's not named after THAT Adolf, you know, Hitler, instead its named after Adolf Brand who was a German writer and pioneering campaigner for the acceptance of male bisexuality and homosexuality.

Shouldn't be too problematic.

Will probably use the Swastika as a logo but the intent will be the old swastika, the one from before WW2 and the Nazis that meant "good luck".

Totally harmless. Its the intent that matters, guys.

Can't be too bright if you spent all that money on R&D trips to China and this was the result. Could have just bought a Straye or emerica or Cons slip for $60 and kept the other $49,940.

Shit looks wack.
Feel bad for the shops and people he called and begged to carry these.
He’s about 5 years too late from this being a trend - these are Alexander McQueen ripoffs that peaked before people knew what an N95 mask was.

"Hold up, let me pull my pants up real quick to show you my $100 slip ons."

Save yourself some dough and just buy the Lakai Owen. Practically the exact same shoe for less.

Someone might have mentioned it before but the more I see of these the more they remind me of those generic-ass inexpensive shoes they sell at H&M… but three times the price.  Last Resort or even (and it pains me to say this) Hours is Yours have much more pizzazz.

I already have a boring-ass, plain white, suede pair of slip-ons that I picked up brand new from the manu for $24.99 USD, shipped & THEY come w/ a nice cupsole & a G6 pour-in midsole & G6 insole; I think I’ll pass on these.

I would fuck with the Ed slip-ons for sure. However, this is mainly because there aren't many good vegan options for skate shoes out there at the moment.
