NB# had him “officially” on before primitive despite the fact he’s been repping primitive hard for a good 2 years (yes I know he was on primitive Japan). P-Rod is sleeping so hard on him and you just know Reynolds is waiting to pounce but can’t until primitive slips up (like eS did)…

not to interrupt the stream of aimu footy too much, but could it make sense that with rumors about primitive financial trouble the introduction to the team took time- like if he is under contract they might have waited out till they could guarantee pay?

primitvive didn't do a board drop/ whacky collab in quite a while, stock on the Euro page is the same for 6 months now.

it would also explain them not making the move to make dylan jaeb pro maybe?

same theory here
Japan market is a target and that's probably why they made Kyonosuke pro before Dylan.
then we heard these rumors of financial trouble that made everything stale.
It's maybe going better or they had to make a move to have him stay on and not go for other opportunities he most probably got

Aimu’s smile is the Achilles heel, otherwise flawless. I want to AI a stone faced expression after every trick. What does he think, skating is supposed to be fun or something?

People who have an issue with Aimu smiling are so fucking weird to me.

Are y'all saying "EYE-MOO" or "AY-MOO"?
I've been saying the "Eye" version since he came on the scene.
Can anyone confirm the proper pronunciation?

For somebody that obviously studied Wade's style like a SAT prep course, I need disgusted hand gestures dismissing every textbook maneuver immediately on the rollaway so I know he's still not satisfied with it.

I agree. The smile is a part of his natural style.

And it is the former, “eye-moo.”

I wonder if his dad pondered the fact that when he made it to the US, he'd have to introduce himself by saying, "I'm ai-mu" the later's pronunciation not being that different from "I'm" in English...

Imagine him doing all this in skin-tight Krew jeans and a baseball raglan...

Maybe I'm bias but it suits him well, doesn't bother me one bit...

i was on that boat too but after a while you just gotta look past it. between the 4xl tees and the new balances it's really impressive that he can do tricks that outweigh the fits

Nah man, that’s how many Japanese skaters have been dressing for forever at this point.

10 years ago on my visit to Japan, even before the baggy kit was back in fashion, that’s just how many skaters over there were dressing.

Personally I love it.

I didn't know Aimu was a univeristy student. Good on him. Doing Sports Business. He doesn't think he has the best style.

wish i was as into this as everyone else.

His knees are stuck together and his arms are always behind him and his elbows dont bend or something. also his clothes are just massive. looks like some little kid wearing his dads clothes. sets up for every trick the same like an action figure. lots of cool tricks and massive pop and catch and stuff but the knees never opening and just a big ball of fabric rolling around doesnt do it for me.

But.. hes definitely doing his thang and im sure hes super duper nice and seems fun to be around generally and is clearly very good at skating.

Personally, I'm a big fan of the feet-apart-knees-together steeze, Jerry Hsu does it a fair amount too and he's my favorite skater of all time. I don't think it's something they can help, it's just what their bodies do on impact.
Kinda like Cookie and Bartie can't help being bowlegged.
