Noooooo. Those death lenses are regularly $8,000-$15,000. It cracked me up when people were like "Do you have another one?!?!"

This brings up an interesting convo. I am a filmer/photographer, if its just me shooting independently its me paying for the damage. If I'm shooting for a big company sometimes they have insurance on gear so the insurance pays for damage.

I was just recently shooting some surfing for fun and my buddy fell and smashed into my lens port and it instantly flooded the housing with saltwater and roasted the camera/lens. I footed the bill, which is personally what I expect to do if there's a catastrophe like that. If you're skating and a the board shoots out and scratches the lens I don't think the skater should feel bad. I should've turned the camera out of the way quicker. It's part of the game, I'm the one that's in your way.

They need to do their board brand

i dunno, i feel like it's a cool idea at face value but i'm not in favor of anything that takes these guys off their boards like running a brand would. just have their sponsors cut the checks and pay the vendors so all they have to worry about is stacking clips

I could not imagine leaving Krooked or Anti Hero for FA. But I would leave Real. Even worse graphics than FA and even with being amazing- Mason still essentially competes with Ishod, Kyle Walker etc to stand out on that team. On FA he could get full creative control to make homie videos with Jake, Curren, and Louie all day long and would immediately be the best or 2nd best on the team after Louie. He also wouldn’t have to sport the Real Oval with like some flamingos being abducted by alien flying saucers and butterfly graphics with those shitty DLX shapes and wbs that only short fat ppl like the Gonz like.

I know nothing about camera gear.. but how much better does a 10k lens look than say, a 2-4k lens?  I get why they’d give Jake a hard time about it, but it seems like a 50/50 responsibility split in my eyes.  Anyway, dope edit.  Incredible juxtaposition between this and the Hardies in the Cayman Islands edit yesterday lol.

To the average viewer, not that much better. It's a bit more complicated than that though. For the Panasonic camcorders most filmers use there isn't really anything that exists between the $10k Century lens (which also isn't even produced anymore) and the $200 Opteka (which looks quite bad IMO).

Feel bad for Jake - dude just seems generally unhinged and that lens scratch cannot be good for his overall mental state

What in the parasocial projection is going on here?

Jake's face when he sees the scratch is priceless. RIP to that lens. I hope DLX at least chips in some money for a new one.

technically, it's not priceless, it's about 10k

The clip of Mason filming Ryan was so sick.

I can't imagine the filmer pain of fucking up a lens like that.

Does Shane Farber still not have a board sponsor?

all style and speed, wow. left me wanting more. one of those street transition ollies curren did was absurdly boosted. that crazy ass line from jake on the banks (la high?). I don't think louie gets enough credit for how creative his spot/trick selection is.

They need to create some series with this holy quintet, atlantic drift style. another board brand is absurd.
