Not really sure if this counts, as the reasoning is different, but yeah the whole controversy with Burzum makes Andrew Allen’s part in Hockey II a weird one for me. The song itself is fucking sick with the mood of the video. He just blasts into frame with the guitar, and it makes the part feel even rawer and compliments his style well, especially the part where the guitar kinda dips (idk what to call it) while he disappears into a tunnel. I am not necessarily the most morally sound person myself – often making questionable decisions - and I’m not here to start some rant about the ethics of musicians (obviously there’s a lot of morally corrupt people in the music world), but yeah this does make me wonder when I see/hear his part. A weird one for sure.
Also, that video in general had a few surprising musical choices. I wouldn’t usually be listening to a John Carpenter soundtrack, but Ben Kadow looks like he’ll fucking punt an unborn child across a football field from behind that blue fence while the music ominously plays.
