Thanks for the heads up! Looks nice. On the whole reviews of this film seem to be very positive, which is a good sign. In terms of relatability, what I gather from articles so far is that the specific period (2000's) and 'place' (Taiwanese-American, in what I gather is Californian suburbia), will make some things more recognizable for some than for others, but the coming of age theme itself is pretty universally relatable.
There's not an awful lot of mention of/comparison to Mid 90's. I also suspect the skateboarding aspect in the film is limited. It does get compared several times to Eight Grade (2018); which I never heard of, but am definitely going to give a watch this week.
