Do you guys honestly think jamie is gonna say something about this before chris? Neither of them are, it’s been out there for years and they’re just gonna keep ignoring it

Jamie commenting on another man's spousal abuse accusations, when it hasn't been proven,  could probably put him in some legal trouble, no???  Especially if he decides to essentially fire him from his job.   I can't stand Cole,  and I'm sure he's a piece of shit,  but expecting a written response from Jamie on this seems unrealistic.

sorry to derail but…i wonder if there’s ever been an unfair dismissal suit from someone getting kicked off a skate team  ???

Is it really up to debate that smashing windshields cuz a person can’t skate is a fried? Like what the fuck is the humor in that story? I mean I laugh at it but then I’m like oh that’s happened? Like wut? It’s. It like a cartoon and anime it’s just some clown that plays with the toy good and then they get mad when they can’t. Like toddler.  That’s fucked up. Fuck Chris Cole. Slap basically the Lowe’s level of platoon cave. Brink got a candle  But I’m selling flash lights. Anyone with any since don’t need neither to see how wack Chris Cole be

Anyone else not have a doubt in the world that the reason Chris Cole called the traveling windshield repair man so quickly was to hide the evidence of his abusive rage and ensure that no questions were asked?

Doubt it, skaters are contractors not employees

Wow, breaking the windshield of the car while she is still in it cause he doesn't get to go skate. That is out of control. Breaking a windshield is fucking gnarly.

If this is a story she tells as if it is a good humor misunderstanding, I can only imagine what else went on that she didn't want to talk about.

Finally, did Mikey's wife say that this is Mikey's favorite story and he tells it like he was there? Like, Mikey leads off his free-market church group with stories about spousal abuse being awesome?
Mikey Taylor Podcast 135: How supporting spousal abuse can make you a great entrepreneur.
Mikey Taylor Podcast 240: Why Jesus needs women to understand that they deserve it for making their husbands mad.

This tracks w/ Mikey Taylors persona of gentrifying slumlord landlord

i don’t know that it’s that but, i will say it obviously sounds like he has a real anger problem. people who do stuff like that in relationships, the kind of people who black out for a second and make irrational decisions (especially when they include violence) usually snap out of it shortly after and feel very guilty so, they try to fix it as quickly as they can to make it “go away”. i just can’t imagine being a semi “famous” person, at least within skating, whose been around as long as he has and also has kids… i can’t imagine being him and having that posted about me on social media without ever responding to it or making a statement. it’s not a good look.

I get that we're holding on to the windshield story as it's "on record" but am I the only one much more appalled by the line "until one day he nearly killed me." in Christine's IG post? Like, fuck, that's a bonafide violent crime this fucker should be taken to court and jail for.

Yeah that line stood out badly to me - I mentioned it a page or two ago as it was news to me. But I wasn’t eager to start sniffing around demanding to know what she was talking about.

that was my immediate thought as well. The way she spoke about the incident on weekend buzz makes me think this is the event she’s speaking about when she says he almost killed her.

The way she was willing to talk about it in the episode is scary in that so many instances like this one can be presented in such ways whether they are in front of a court room or within the mind of a victim where no one has to perceive much wrongdoing.

Obviously the situation was not funny. She mentions taking the kids and car and leaving. She had the bravery to initiate a confrontation with him and that probably escalated into a full fledged argument and the tantrum afterwards. She even mentions him acknowledging that it was not satisfying to only slam the hood of her car… How fucking far up your own ass do you have to be to try to laugh off your own behavior in that way

and thinking of Mikey Taylor loving this story enough to tell it so many times that his wife can recount how he retells the story????

It must have felt like living in bizarro world for Christine. The entire weekend buzz episode was so embarrassingly trashy. Two dudes talking to wives about the sizes of their partners dicks while they’re all wine drunk with a baby? Get the fuck out of here.

Like BRINK alludes to, this is one of the most ban happy echo chambers. Just go through some old threads and like half of the posters are banned. Mods are on the same wavelength as any far left / far right subreddit that restricts any dissenting opinion to ensure conformity.

Again, BRINK says: "there's no way for me to have a normal interaction here anymore."
[close]

This is a really bad take.

And, if you are going attach your cart to Brunk's horse you are making a big mistake. His moderation appears to have absolutely nothing to do with his politics or his values. Instead, it seems to stem from his manner of interacting with others: his insistence on responding to every comment in a thread, digging in and always escalating every discussion, always playing the victim, being easily offended, and not understanding the difference between banter and insults. He doesn't understand the rules of the playground and then escalates things well outside the bounds of a normal discussion.

Debate is welcomed over certain topics. Disagreement certainly happens all the time. I don't think @OldieButFrenchie and I agree all that often. And I think @SneakySecrets and I usually disagree on basically everything. The difference is we rarely toss out insults nor do we frantically respond to every post. (This isn't to say none of us have crossed the line here and there, but we don't do so on a consistent basis.) And, weird, despite our disagreements none of us have been banned.

And, yea, mods banning over homophobic or transphobic or racist or misogynist slurs and petty insults is completely fine. None of these behaviors represent a "normal" interaction.

Now stop trying to derail the thread with this nonsense. The thread is about Chris Cole's behavior and the Taylors enjoying spousal abuse stories.

Fair assessment! I butted heads with different people (including mods) about different subjects on slap over the years, but I was never banned or moderated. Just kooked!   ;D
Also let me add: moderating this place has to be difficult and time-consuming so all in all, props to the mods. I don't know how many there are? But someone's gotta do all that work. Plus another thing: yeah times change. Slap might be different to what it was 15 years ago, but that's the way the world turns. Gotta accept it or start yelling at clouds. I just try to keep in mind that I'm not a teenager anymore.... So it's totally normal if I don't "get" some new trend.

edit: just watched part of that weekend buzz itw, holy shit, f***d situation....Reminded me of that Chase Gabor dude casually telling that infamous screwdiver story.

Cole's insta fully blocked me after I left a public comment. Full crisis mode. Jamie's insta comment-blocked me although I never left a comment there but probably in reaction to the DM, which means that's all the reply I'll get from him.

Has anybody else had the balls to comment or DM them and how have you fared?

Imagine being Gabriel Summers and dropping the part of the year only to have it be overshadowed by your team mate sitting out his allegations in your cover.

Probably not. Labor protections in the US aren't great, there's no pro skater union to go file a grievance to, the contracts are most likely at will or they can just not re-sign him.
