Phoneless skate sessions

If a trick is landed at spot, and no one is around to document it, did it even happen?

I leave it at home every time.  I’m not falling on it and it’s not getting stolen. I have been skating since before the flip phone and because of that have always been accustomed to not having my phone when I skate. I wish the Air Tag had an SOS feature.   Skating by yourself with no phone is a bit reckless but whatever.

I have it on me while I skate. How else am I gonna be able to check pornhub every five minutes in between trick tries?

I keep with me, sometimes will put it on a tripod to film, but always have pornhub open in case.

I keep it on me, and if I'm alone I’ll put on some music, or pornhub
ive done acting too. I do stunt work. I do lightsaber fighting and choreography technique. I even build props too. even lightsabers.

I can't skate with anything in my pockets. I sweat too much and fall too hard. Plus skating is legit more interesting than anything I could look at on my phone at the time and no one is tryna call me. Easy decision for me.

It will never cease to amaze me how people are able to skate with a phone in their pocket. I take it to the spot but leave it in my backpack strapped to my bike. Will take it out rarely to film something. Good to live in a safe place.

Bring it with and keep in bag at spot, or locked in the glove compartment.

If I were to skate adventure, I’d probably keep in pocket until I got to spot and then put it down in bag or on the grass/mulch/whatever.

Even in flip phone era, I would have with me in bag in case I needed to contact someone.
Thanks y’all. It’s been fun.

I keep it in my car but go to it every so often during a session to check the time. Maybe i should just get a watch.

I’m 36 years old, any time I’m trying something out of the ordinary I’m going to film it so I don’t have to do it again

I always listen to music when I skate. Phone is always in my pocket. I’m not checking anything though - only take it out to change songs (and I usually listen to entire albums).

I haven’t ever filmed a trick on a phone and I haven’t given a shit about filming anything in 10 years - I’m about what it feels like in the moment now, not how it looks on screen

Well, it works for me! Skating while listening to music is about my favorite thing. It’s like meditation - tune everything else out. I also don’t even notice my phone in my pocket anymore but I get it because I can’t stand to skate with my wallet

I didn't have a phone from 2013 until 2019, it was an amazing six years. I used an iPod Touch that could make calls, but only from wifi.

Not having GPS sucked, but no phone bill and no interruptions was nothing short of amazing.

From probably 2019 until last year or so I was running essentially the same thing, iPhone with no service. I hate being connected to everyone but disconnected at the same time. Hardly anyone hits me up and when they do, it normally pisses me off. Like you said, the lack of interruption is really what makes it nice

Never filmed growing up and I stopped skating from ~2012-2019 when Instagram really blew up. I don't have social media and my skating is nothing special but every so often I'll film something I'm hyped on.

Pretty much the same, skating really never had anything to do with filming for me. But occasionally I’ll film something.

My mom has one of those digital picture frames that you can add photos and videos to remotely, so occasionally I’ll bless her with some clips.

I never skate with a phone on me, but I'll use it to play music at the spot pretty often. Not sure how to answer.

I wish I could go out without my phone. I miss those days. I have it on me but usually in my backpack or leave it in the car. It is fun to selfie film here and there. I got too much going on these days. I got a wife and kid. Sometimes I skate with two phones because I need to have my work cell on me certain weeks/weekends.
