If this made it to the Supreme Court it would take some serious mental gymnastics for the 6 right wing justices to say, "Refusing to make a cake or a website is legal, but people can be forced to print posters."
i honestly don’t see it being a huge stretch on their part. the cake and website have design elements that constitute speech on the part of the designer / implementer (the baker and the developer) but the employee at the print shop is paid to run a machine. it is not their speech being infringed upon. if i was a conservative justice and a cunt, i would start there.
I can easily see them defending the first two on practimg religious freedom, being religion is a protected class. The refusal will be challenged based on political bias being the basis and with that not a protected class, it’ll be deemed as prejudice.
The thing I’d be worried about is Trump “joking” about saying the quiet part out loud — when told during a press conference that people still have their 1st Amendment Right and are out there still protesting, his immediate response was “I wouldn’t be so sure about that.”
Media needs to start cracking down and taking his words seriously instead of sane-washing that idiot. He’s literally talking about dismantling the first point in the Bill of Rights and people are brushing it off as if it were nothing.
