Imo vulc with an insole that matches your feet > stock cupsole.

As gimmicky as they seem i do like the new footprint fluidx insoles. But everyones foot is different. I encourage everyone to buy a few different types of insoles and see what works for you.

I get what you’re saying, but I put insoles I like in supportive cupsoles and it’s made my feet feel 10 years younger. I’ll still skate vulcs occasionally when I get the itch but nothing beats the comfort and support of a good insole and cupsole pairing IMO

Sometimes when i have insoles in cups i feel like im wearing platforms and higher of the ground can mean more ankle rolls.

Same here. I've worn lots of more supportive and cushioned shoes, but think the extra stack height and stiffer soles have led to worse ankle rolls.

Got the 440s, but haven't skated yet. They feel really good. Snug around the ankle, but thin and soft underfoot.
