^I hate when TakashiSIxNine, kid mero, fat joe, etc say it too
it really comes down to:
if you don't possess a personal history of experiencing hearing (that word) to personally insult YOU/YOUR FAMILY/YOUR HISTORY (which comes with an intended immediate connotation of indifference/hatred/celebration of a certain people's hardship)...using (that word) is doing so at your own peril/risk.
I feel this rationale DEADS the whole "WeLL tHeY uSe iT wHy cAnT i?" argument
which really = "i'm willfully ignorant and most likely a default racist"
For the longest time it was just a slang term for dude like bitch= woman. It's black vernacular that people who respected, emulated. Casper was saying it on kids. Some places where white and black are cool with each other, it's just slang. Fat joey crack is Puerto Rican, they're considered black due to some having black ancestry. But really it's more a class thing, if your neighborhood talks like that, you talk like that. If you're rich or you look down on rap culture you can't or wouldn't use it. Nowadays people get offended by anything so it's a mess
The Nword is not a class thing...dumbest shit I ever heard, I have family members who grew up in the projects that don't use that word...I know white/ Mexican/ Asian kids who grew up in the hood that do and dont use that word, the ones that don't have some self respect. Don't try to act like they say it on some being poor community hip hop shit, its honestly some ignorant bullshit way of trying to be cool...you know the word commonly as poser in skating. Im not got gonna flat out attack a poser but you get the vibe when someones faking the funk or perpetrating
I think its crazy how you assume what is "black" and that black vernacular is an actual thing.
I never heard of poor Caucasian vernacular or poor Asian vernacular, to me its a fucked up how some people assume that a handfull entertainers control the verbiage of what is considered black speech communication.
Also imitating what one assumes is black is highly problematic IMO, I never speak about black people like were some monolith, we have some common struggles, but there isn't anything you can point to and say that's what defines a black person or anyone of color for that matter. The Fat Joe discussion has been ongoing, but a lot of people in hip hop don't fuck with him or Cypress Hill for those reasons.
I'm white but the inner voice in my head says the n word sometimes
It's usually "these n* trippin"
Or "thisss n*"
How do you guys feel about this
I feel you're trolling ... and that you also probably have some deep seeded insecurities if you have to use that as part of your inner monologue
