If you're contemplating taking the last train to baldsville, go ahead and buy yourself some clippers. Spend a bag, go nuts, the idea is that you are probably never going to have to pay for another haircut in your life. If you get proper clippers, you may have to get the blade sharpened once in your lifetime but you won't be using them anywhere near as often as they were designed to be used.

If you want a bald scalp, shave it down one time and then use a razor as needed like you would any facial hair you shave off. Otherwise use the 1 guard and do it every 7-10 days to maintain. It should probably take less than 5 minutes to do. And get a hand mirror to check the back.
