A few pages late to the party but the separate the art from the artist conversation is always interesting to me. I think PRod is comparable to Mike V in this instance. He was unquestionably at the top of the game at one point but it only really matters in the era you care about/came up in.

I don't agree with changing history to lessen the impact someone had cuz they're lame, but I'm totally for adding caveats to a person's career: Mike V barnyard shape and raw power were of massive influence to our culture. A caveat being his part in Label Kills... or his bands/companies/personality. All can be true simultaneously.

Soon random kids will drop insane NBD's at famous spots but it's all AI and we can't tell. Probably later this year.
[close]

I'm not excited for AI to be fully refined and polished.
Right now I can usually spot it, even if everything is spelled correctly and nobody has 8 fingers, it still has that weird, waxy plastic look. I'm not sure how else to describe it.
I rue the day it's refined enough to be completely undetectable without editing and refinement from a human being.
Fuck artists all to hell, I guess.
[close]

Who gives a shit. AI is just internet, if you believe what you see on the internet you’re a fucking dork anyway.

Back to only believing what you see in real life with your own eyes or hear from people you trust.

It’s actually a good thing.

What an adorably naive point of view.
I'm honestly jealous. I wish I had your faith in humanity and their ability to, in good faith, detect and avoid bullshit.

The only "artists" that are gonna be out of work because of AI are people who make deviantart-tier furry porn...... and that's a good thing. If you're already using Photoshop or some sort of editing tool are you really an artist or a graphic designer? These AI modeling tools are always going to have that shitty CGI-ness to it and the people that use that kind of imagery aren't the ones supporting artists anyways. Deepfakes are nothing new and governments around the world have been doing that long before computers or the internet were around. There will always be a place for real art and craftsmanship, the only difference is now the people that get paid $100k/yr to make shitty corporate slideshows and advertising slop will have to get real jobs.

That's... exactly what’s being argued against here.
AI’s getting to the point where we can’t tell it apart from real video or hand-made, hard-earned art. That’s the whole issue.

Deepfakes are nothing new and governments around the world have been doing that long before computers or the internet were around.

So all AI advancements did nothing new compared to tech from before COMPUTERS? Damn.
Even if governments had some secret stuff way back (I’m politics-blind so whatever), having this tech in everyone’s hands is a different story.

There will always be a place for real art and craftsmanship
Hopefully, if we can still tell the difference, which depends on:

I cannot overstate how wrong this is. You’re vastly unaware of how many art based industries from Indy comic illustration to top level concept art and everything in between have incorporated digital tools in the last 25+ years.

The point I'm making is that AI is just the next technical step from those digital tools, you still need to feed it prompts and reference material. Just like photoshop still needs the human eye, the AI modeling tools need someone guiding it.

U fuckin idiot... I'm not one to get mad but ppl r so dum when it comes to "AI". All "AI" has pre-conceived prompts as well as the prompt given by the user. The people that own the "AI", not the people that coded made the "AI" are ultimately in charge of these pre-conceived prompts. This is a tool perfect for propaganda, fear mongering, fake news and general chaos in the hands of any rich fuck since any otherwise factual response can be twisted to fit a narrative based on these prompts. You may have heard of Grok on Twitter (not calling it the dumb name), you can @ it in any thread and it will reply with a response to your question or the topic, whatever; You may have also recently heard it's recent spaz over white genocide in South Africa, injecting it into literally every conversation for I think a week or two. You might not be aware that Elon Musk made a post about white genocide in South Africa which the bot, when @'d, disagreed with... coincedentally a couple days before the spaz... huh... that's weird.... DO THE MATH IT'S A PROPAGANDA MACHINE!!! He changed the prompt so that it didn't disagree with his viewpoint because he was butthurt, but he forgot to write the prompt properly so it injected into every conversation. Fkn dumbass. DO YOU REALLY WANT ALL OF YOUR INFORMATION GIVEN TO YOU BY A CORPORATION??? One time I was at work and I overheard this lady talkin about the Matrix, she said it was actually doing humanity a favour because they were safe... yea...

What has it really provided the general populace thus far... uhhhh obviously fake images? Some dumb memes? The rich get richer AND WERE GETTIN FUCKED!!!!

I put "AI" in quotes because while it is Artificial as fuck, it is hardly Intelligent. We have had this technology for years in weather forecasting systems, the only thing that has changed is it can now use the internet (terrible idea for factual info), and the memory size is larger due to all the server farms bought up by AI interest groups (Actively killing the planet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) hence the constantly updating models, bigger memory bigger context size, bigger hole in the ozone layer WTF!!!!

Shit like this pisses me off, I don't understand how people can be so nonchalant about something which I know for a fact will be forced into every aspect of our lives in the future like the internet is becoming now. BECAUSE IT PRINTS FKN MONEY FOR THEM, AND TAKES THE MONEY OF PEOPLE BELOW THEM!!! HOW CAN YOU NOT SEE AN ISSUE!!!

I could rant for literal hours but I'll stop there. Please educate urself.

I don't buy Bams recovery,  every fucking time he's given attention he's bollocks it up.  I'm 14+ years in to recovery there's always a ruse to hide using.

I'll give a bit of insight from my perspectives,  the fact Bam seems to be a loud mouth braggart and never humbles himself not once. Money, jewelry, broads he's banged the list goes on.

Now mind you I'd like to think his recovery is genuine, however when it comes to being humble just don't shoot your mouth off whenever you get salty.

Just my thoughts though.

Allen.

I'm a hero bitch

Artificial intelligence (AI), by its very nature, poses inherent risks to society due to its capacity to operate without moral judgment or empathy. Unlike human decision-making, which can be influenced by ethics, emotion, and societal norms, AI operates based on data and algorithms, often replicating or amplifying existing biases. This means that decisions affecting individuals’ lives—such as hiring, policing, or lending—can become automated in ways that perpetuate systemic inequality. Since AI systems lack the ability to question or contextualize their actions, they can enforce outcomes that are technically accurate but ethically wrong.

Moreover, AI can be inherently dangerous because it enables the centralization of power. Governments and corporations have the ability to deploy AI for surveillance, manipulation, and control at unprecedented scales. Facial recognition, behavioral prediction, and data profiling grant institutions the means to monitor populations continuously and subtly influence public behavior. This creates a scenario where autonomy and privacy are systematically eroded, making individuals more susceptible to exploitation and coercion. The problem is not just misuse but the very structure of AI systems, which lends itself to such uses.

Finally, the accelerating development of AI threatens fundamental human roles and economic stability. Automation is replacing jobs across industries, often without adequate plans for retraining or transitioning displaced workers. This leads to growing inequality, social unrest, and the erosion of purpose for many individuals. As AI continues to evolve beyond human control, the risks of unintended consequences increase—ranging from algorithmic failures in critical infrastructure to the emergence of autonomous systems with goals misaligned with human values. Therefore, AI may be inherently bad not simply due to how it's used, but because of how it operates and what it displaces in the human experience.

You're wrong, you're a bitch, and I had chat gpt tell you so.

AI is labor theft the same way that working for somebody else is wage theft. Some wage theft is part of a capitalist democracy but there has to be limitations or they will take it all. The same bad guys we've been talking about for the past year or so own the AI that is already taking out jobs That it was dropped into human culture the same way they introduced Bird scooters tells you how much the AI owners like regulation and oversight. They will eat your face and take your ability to feed yourself while doing it.
