My unpopular opinion: backside flips > frontside flips. They always look more powerful and flow with the direction of skating in a more aesthetic way. Pat Washington, Hjalte Halberg, and Cyrus have my current favorites.

I love Degros but every time I see him rubbing his trucks on ledges to get grooves (as opposed to, you know, actually skating the damn deck) I cringe a little.

Clyde wrote a Big Brother product review about some wax brand that fucked my young brain up forever, he went on and on about how ridiculous and insulting the very concept of skate wax is and mocked anyone who may feel otherwise as soft and slow. Just skate faster, he said. Fast forward 20 years and I still never have wax on me. But I also don't skate very fast.

Not waxing a ledge but expecting it to slide/grind just by going faster is probably one of the dumbest myths in skateboarding.

All those dudes were so cocky about not waxing but you look back at their footage and they’d be doing four inch nose grinds. Like just call it a bonk at that point.

Pretty much the exact bs flip I aspire to have. The kind that dive a little and the whole flip and rotation is one fluid movement as apposed to a fast, flat flip caught at 90 degrees then rotated. I still like the latter kind, but definitely prefer that Louie kind.

About once a month I'll hit a holy grail bs flip out of nowhere, think I got it figured out, and then not do another one like it for another 4-6 weeks.

I may be mistaken, but I think I recall him going back to school and onto college. He might just be skating for fun and not worrying about sponsors. This is pure speculation, though.

i think he's super loyal to angel cabada from supra who currently runs straye, not sure what the deal with FTP is. i'm also pretty sure any brand would hook up him in a heartbeat if antwuan approached them

That's cool that he's loyal and all but from where I stand those shoes, especially the ones with the flames, are just above cariuma in the cornball dept. Not saying he couldn't be the exception but I can't see any respectable board company wanting those shoes near their product. Does FTP make decks? I honestly don't know anything about that brand except for seeing various rappers wear it.

Would be insane to see him back on baker or deatwish, those boards would def sell. I know there's some weird history there though.

I've seen clips of him at the primitive/April parks. Would be cool if either of them gave him a check.

Watching this X-Games shit got me thinking...Is it unpopular to say I feel absolutely zero affinity with anything that has handlebars?
I feel like companies occasionally try to squish us together and think we should be BFFs since we're all "alternative sports".
Scooters are obvious, but BMXers too. I just...don't give a shit. I don't think it looks good or cool at all, and when they show up to a park I get annoyed and wish they'd leave. The bikes are too fast and silent to integrate into a skate flow, and they frequently (in my experience) don't fully comprehend the path and flow of skaters.
On a more stereotyping tip, I automatically assume they're in a lifted F-150 with Punisher and Trump stickers all over it.
They're just analog motocross guys to me.

But I've seen mixed skate and BMX groups before in my town, so maybe everyone else is down with it?
Am I just on some tribal bullshit? I mean, if I am I'm gonna stay on it, but maybe I'll kinda feel bad sometimes. Maybe.
