“What will this pro’s personality be?”
“…uhhhh, he likes fishing.”
This has already been used for Jamie Foy, Daan Van Der Linden, Doobie, and David Gravette. I think it only seems genuine for Gravette.
"Younger pro enjoys fishing in their spare time" vs "Older pro transitioning into full time golfer"
who you got??
Would you rather cook in the summer sun for 18 holes with Eldy and Malto, or drink some Twisted Teas tubing on the river with Gravette and Foy?
Fishing always > golf for me. The culture alone, golf has pretty much got the worst culture, a lot of money and exclusion. And uses so much water. Plus nature is prettier than mowed lawns.
There is a distinction that Gravette is a fly fisherman, an angler. A fly rod is like a skateboard, almost no one can just pick it up and make it work. No shade on conventional tackle but conventional is more like a scooter, it's quite a bit more attainable with less time invested. When Gravette first starting posting fishing it was like mongo with mobbed kickflip body varial type shit. He's come a long way and killing it these days catching carp. Backing all things Gravette.
