Unpopular opinion - White Bones wheels are best because they're super bright white and stay super bright white forever, they don't turn that ugly orangish-yellowish color.

Since the introduction of the new Bones formula wheel, I’ve noticed a lot of extremely white wheels in skateboarding videos, which conspiratorially believe are Spitfire pros rubbing the Bones logo off in order to get a trick at a super crusty spot.

Honestly I kinda like the faded off-white color that Spits get. They look cool in the same way that an old set of trucks look cool. But I have always wondered why they don't just dye them more white if they can dye pretty much any other color.




That might be a dumb question, but idk man, I just buy the dang things.

It's not necessarily the dye, but how the urethane compound responds to oxidation and stains. The compound itself might also take dye differently than others, like the standard Spits. It's hard because wheels wear down over time whereas some types of urethane used on car parts or outdoor furniture doesn't wear and keeps its initial color longer.

I enjoy looking down at a nice worn set of potatoes. My setup looks so gross when it's worn everything but new wheels.

If you want to keep your wheels white, keep your board in a lightproof bag and skate only at night because they turn yellow from exposure to UV light.

The arms down, expressionless roll away style is deeply boring to me. Throw some fuckin jazz on that shit.

I always want to say it's just an entire generation that desperately wants to skate like Antuan Dixon, but then, the talent level in skateboarding just keeps getting higher and higher, and with people constantly getting better and better all the time, super solid, bolts, arms down landings are going to be more common too. Not too dissimilar from olympic level gymnastics.

I'm cool with whatever style as long as it looks natural and not forced, Antuan and Aimu clearly just skate like that, you couldn't force that level of steeze if it didn't come naturally. I'm cool with more wild styles too, but there's a fine line between wild style and sloppiness. If it's full on wacky flailing arm man, powersliding out of every trick with toes dragging and hands on the ground...that's a bit much for me.
Clean that shit up.
