truck through the board was a unique one, as was security being lax as f for a building like that. some serious pros and cons with landing on granite instead of concrete.

Was dude just a bum? He fit Baker perfectly in the early 10s  and then he was just gone. Was a fan and figured he’d be a lifer

If he shares the same views on skating as his friends, Dee was never gonna fit into the new vision at Baker.

Funny the one guy in this video talks about skaters used to have the most distinct clothing style and now they just wear random things. Distinct does not describe the video at the beginning of the thread.

Some people are too good at skating to "get it" and that's fine. Sometimes that gets you nyjah and sometimes it gets you dropped from baker

Boss declared ‘Dee’ a little to close to ‘Deez’ of ‘Deez Nuts’ fame, thus declaring him unmarketable.

I watched to the reynolds part but their basic schtick is that new age skating is wack, big wheels are wack, these skaters' clothing are wack. They are typical old heads even tho they look like they are just cracking 30. I guess anyone not skating like its 2013 dressed in detroit rock city gear is wack.

I'm older than these guys but I think its cool that someone like Max Wasungu can make something out of skating. Skating opened up. There are traditional hammer/ledge/rail guys and people who just try weird stuff and everything in between. I never got into skating because I wanted it to remain one thing forever.

Nashville dudes have always had a harsh vibe. It doesn’t surprise me that they feel this way.

Legislative plaza is pretty unforgiving as far as those slams go. You slide but your whole body feels like it’s getting rattled by the granite. I can’t believe he kept trying after the first couple.
Didn’t Nick Merlino skate this set in the Dekline video?

Do you think all those homeys all still dress like that?
Kind of an interesting place to be from, despite being relatively far from everything. 10 hour drives minimum to anything with a big scene (Tampa, NYC, Texas) But you are still in the USA so you are part of the supply chain somewhat. probably some skate demos and some shops there and stuff, but probably not too much. Seems like there is some money there too compared to like Alabama or Mississippi where they probably just get nothing. Seems like fairly common knowledge that there was oil in Tennessee so I could see this giving them the resources to have these types of massive granite plazas.

that was so brutal, he kicked out sooo many times and it looks like he's wearing slip-ons/canvas vulcs. has anything else been done on this other than Nick Merlino's switch ollie (@15:16 below)?

thought I read something about this spot getting torn down a while back, did that ever end up happening?

In a public skatepark? That's nuts haha

Yeah, public outdoor skatepark on a spring afternoon lol. Dee, who kicked us out, didn’t even skate the whole 20-30 minutes we were there. His homies weren’t particularly great at skating either. Real pillars in the community.

At what point is the “all will, no skill” threshold reached?

I don’t want to shittalk because he’s going for something truly gnarly but maybe you need a more consistent flick before going for something like that? So many of those tries aren’t even in the right zip code.

Not sure about that some of the ones filmed from the side he has an amazing flick and catch and then they start filming from the front and its not so clear what's going on.

Remember when he posted a story on IG with like 15 bricks of cocaine, 10 guns, and a shit load of cash? I think that better explains why he silently drifted out of relevance.

Anyone got a screenshot of this? Seems wildly out of character
