Old team was stale and needed a revamp, you can’t hold onto name recognition forever.

As Gordon Ramsey always said “move with the times before the times move you”.. the times had moved Lakai, it was the laughing stock of the skate shop shoe shelf, and everyone knows it!

This is an attempt to keep a dying skate brand alive and honestly, the skating was really good.

Let’s see where this goes..

Lakai, and I say this as someone who has had quite a few pairs over the years, have always been on the lesser side of things when it came to quality.
BUT, they were cool bc Rick and Mike and the rest of the team made them look cool. I remember pining over MJ3s and the Mariano shoe with the Italian flag colors for the logo after Fully Flared dropped. While not outstanding shoes, I loved them bc I was supporting Rick and Mike et al.
Not having a single soul, including the founders of the goddamned company, no matter how lackadaisically they handled it up to this point, makes it no longer the same Lakai I grew up with.
Fuck Lakai and this Marc dude.
