New Orleans
« on: February 06, 2025, 06:18:36 PM »
I've seen a couple posts in here about NOLA but they seem to center on nightlife and such, anyone have spots to share? I'm heading down there with the missus over Valentine's Day weekend, but I should be able to sneak in a session or two. Lemme know! Cool shops too, it is Skateshop Day that Saturday, so I'm trying to hit up a shop for sure.

Humidity for the shop. They are rad. They’ll probably give you some spots. Parasite diy is fun. It’s a pretty legit park last time I was there.

Whole city might be wet this time of year.

Definitely go to humidity. The guys that work there are kind and would probably share some spots. If you’re rained out and want a nice day time date, check out “Cuban “Creations” if you’re  in to cocktails. They make a much better version of the frozen concoctions you’ll find on Bourbon Street + generally good drinks and you can order pulled duck gumbo at the bar from the restaurant next door. You can take your drink to the Mississippi. There are spots along the River if it is dry

There’s some steep bank/ wallride things on canal street towards the aquarium that looked fun.

Wish I had more but I went out there to propose to my wife and pretty much just went on a week long date.

Saw that Julien Stranger bump that Jordan Trahan skated but I was three sheets to the wind

If you watch the latest Humidity video, that rusty plaza looking spot with all the ledges is in crescent park, look up "piety wharf"

There's a cool lil bank with a fat rail on it at the intersection of Magazine and Napoleon
i love skateboarding all the time, but sometimes i wish i was one of those douchebags who hangs out with hot girls and parties every week

I don't have much to add but I checked out Parasite and Humidity. I was surprised that all of the skaters I met were so open to chat and friendly. Because of that, I've got so much respect for the scene. I wish I had more time to check it out further. Really wanted to see the islands or whatever that spot was called that John Igei did a switch varial and switch back heel on.

It's like 3 miles away. There is also a fun diy spot called CP3 over in the garden district at the Chippewa Street Basketball Court.
