Pastas is a dummy. He still reposts Ethan Fowler and he’s an actual known racist.

I used to really like Dune but now I just think he’s a dummy too.
His whole super positive vibes shtick doesn’t really match up with the fact that he’s basically been ripping people off.
I know for a fact that he hasn’t fulfilled all of the outstanding Stereo orders.
Pure wack.

I wonder if he still talks to Ethan Fowler, I’m too chicken to DM him like a man and there’s a small part of me that believes he has no idea about the Benny Fairfax thing but that got to be impossible, right?
Weirder shit has happened.

he went on the nine club several months after the benny/ethan stuff came to light and didn't make any mention of it as far as i can remember

also ethan fowler lives in kansas and probably hasn't skateboarded in years now. or maybe he does. who knows. he deleted all of his socials after the benny article

Yeah, I got one approaching a full calendar year now. Nothing major, but I decided to stop pursuing it.

Atleast I eventually got all my decks I ordered.

I wonder if Dune was trying to get Drake Johnson a box

Lol. Eldee is definitely a human. He’s like a raider on horse back who’s kinda scared to do battle. Somehow he closes his eyes and swings his sword wildly and wakes up in a pile of dead orcs.

Stereo feels like one of those brands in modern day where the riders had a good thing going on with their board brand but decided to quit and start their own thing that will only last a couple of years. Stereo should have stayed dead in the late 90's/ early 00s.

Stereo were doing good things while at Giant and even in the first few years that they were independent (before they linked up with Theeve for distribution).

The problem is they never capitalized on the great team they had by putting out a video. They were notorious for running "Full Length Video Coming Soon" for years. The team of Clint Peterson, Benny Fairfax, Olly Todd, Daniel Shimizu, Danny Supa, Danny Renaud, Dyson Ramones and a bit later with Ben Gore could have put out a killer video with that talent. Unfortunately since J Lee left Stereo in the Deluxe days, it seems like Stereo has been mismanaged and not able to live up to it's full potential. I think a major issue is they love to look to their 90's glory days and in Dune's mind nothing can compare to that for him. If he stopped putting his name on a pro board and let the Stereo team shine away from the shadow of the 90's, it would help the brand. But it's too far gone now and honestly just needs to die.

In an alternate reality, Stereo would have become a Tum Yeto distributed brand in 2010 but they stupidly turned down that deal to go with Theeve who made unpopular trucks and belt buckles. Sad to see a brand you used to love die a long slow death but that's how it's been for a few decades now.

that promo and team were so good.

but to give the brand a little credit, right after this

Danny fell off a building
Tony quit and was a chef
Dyson quit to take care of his family
Zach quit to be a yogi
Shimizu quit to skate for bummer high
Ollie quit to be a TM (not fully sure on this one)

Yes mismanagement was a huge issue but it was also having no money (J. Lee did not filter his personal $$$ like people would imagine into the brand). The team riders were barely getting paid and almost all of the footage they did get was given to other sponsors that paid their bills. Motivation also played a major role during that time. The whole team primarily lived in LA and with the type of spots they all preferred to film on they needed to be on constant trips to accumulate enough footage for parts. No money, no trips, no footage, no video.

At Stereo’s peak they had the machine of deluxe which handled money, art and team riders.
Then with everyone being younger you can expect everything they wanna be about is progressive, plus the skating to back it up.
And in a time when you could literally fuck off for 3 years and no one would know if you had a few photos for ads and some clips sprinkled around in 411, montages from brand related videos etc.
In a short time the team changed drastically meaning Mike York, Puleo, Lavar, Paulo etc all got on and off quick and that theme never stopped, it’s a laundry list of pissed ex team riders and burned distributors and people never getting paid. It’s a bummer 2 of my favorite videos are by someone who appears to have screwed so many people over. Some people are not meant to run a company, it’s obvious this applies to Chris. Just hang it up and leave it to people who take the time to pay people and support team riders instead of blowing up your own ego up by repeatedly posting old pics and videos of yourself.

Apparently Pastras and Sammy Baptista are starting a podcast together out of Santa Barbara. Probably not going to listen.

After stereo, Olly Todd was one of the original 3 dudes on palace and in that first promo that came out in 2009-2010. It was him, Charlie Young and Lucien. They just retired his board in more recent years and now he’s a published poet which makes sense because he skated Krux trucks. You got to romanticize shit if you’re skating krux trucks. He had a lot of sick stuff/small parts in palace edits. Olly Todd and his static 3 part ruled - such a good part and worthy of multiple watches

I feel like not many people saw this part because it was a weird time in 411, but Olly had a part in 411 volume 14 issue 2. It’s a good part (obviously static 3 is better but definitely worth the watch). That weird ass era of like 14.2. It came out in 2006 but I didn’t watch it until 2007 when I found it for a dollar still in the plastic at this used bookstore that used to exist in wildwood nj.

This was like a stereo themed 411 with a stereo montage in it with Danny Supa and stuff. The whole video is on YouTube and that era of skating is wild. So many insane tricks in the intro that are so bizarrely heavy.

Edit: @roba already handled this and did it more concise. I start posting stuff but I usually have a kid on me so I don’t post till 24 hours later

Proud to say I have actually owned an Olly Todd pro model. Stereo not Palace. Was stoked on dude from the mags and this Red Bull promo with him and Benny. Olly is an original. I bought brown fucking cords and half cabs to skate in cause of Olly not Bobby. That line he did at that school in Miami is so dope that's what sold me on him. No one skated in slim boot cut pants, football club jerseys, and penguin polos in 06. Dude dressed so British, rad.

I feel like, at this juncture, based on my cursory review of relationships and recent posts of all pertinent parties regarding Stereo skateboards, they may not be ok. And that makes me sad.
ok thanks

seeing stereo 2.0 at autumn was refreshing even with knowing it was under giant dist. the aesthetic was cool pre-instagram. there was crownfarmer, stacks, verte, i keep saying it but, the instant winner, vehicle. art direction was good for it's time. seeing supernaut boards with tony cox art. the generic blueprint team board. even death skateboards skull. ozawa heroin boards. way out east, the anti-social video and north 2 were good. i bring those up because of keegan sauder. a clint peterson stereo board with indys, autobahns, reflex bearings abec 7, black magic grip, shorty's silverado 7/8", blue doh dohs. i wonder if blessian didn't get hurt he'd have been am on stereo. his tsm interview was cool. jeremy holmes as well.
