Is Stereo doing okay?

Some weeks ago I noticed that their product pages were showing less and less product over time and got to a point where some sections had nothing listed anymore, and now their site domain looks to be expired and down completely.

Did I miss any news about them? I really liked stereo.

A few months ago Chris Pastras posted something that seemed like he was beefing with Jason Lee on ig before editing it into a less crazy post. The now edited gist of it is "I'm a lifer. You can't take this shit away from me". I wouldn't be surprised if the money from the penny board knockoffs finally dried and it was time to finally call it leading to Pastras being pissed

I rode at least two Danny Supa's and loved them.  But I think the safe answer for this question asked anytime in the last ten years is,

"No.  No they are not doing okay".

My thought has always been that Stereo is just a write-off for Jason Lee. I have no idea how much he made as an actor or how much he makes in royalties today, but my uninformed guess was that Stereo was just a tax-write off/expensive hobby.

Which, if true, is actually pretty cool. I'd love to be rich enough to own a skate-shop and not have to worry about if it made money. Just a place to hang out and support the community.

I wonder if Jason Lee is doing much with stereo nowadays or even involved anymore? He seems more concerned with managing his new film/camera store in Eagle rock with Raymond Molinar. If any heads in LA are into film, you can usually spot either of those dudes at their shop Eagle Rock Camera and they’re both super friendly

better quality one here. yeah i had high hopes for the reunion team (olly todd, shimizu, tony silva, dyson ramones. all great) and then they never actually released a full video with those dudes and most of them just left eventually. kind of a shame

Fisher was really good at manuals. He never quite picked up steam.

Regarding sales they have them often in the last 2 years. Lee and Dune are both often dropping signed stuff and Dune has been selling personal boards recently. Hope that dude is doing okay, he just rubs me right.

That would have never happened simply because stereo didn’t pay the riders decently and didn’t have a travel budget. All those guys besides Clint & Ben G. were really lazy and always had excuses to not skate something. When they eventually stacked some clips they’d give them up to their better paying sponsors for obvious reasons. Then the cycle would continue, making a full length impossible. It’s a bummer because Benny, Raymond, Dyson, Supa, & Olly  ripped but there’s a reason why there isn’t a lot of footage of them throughout their careers.

Back when TSM was around they were flowing Blessian and maybe Jeremy Holmes. I thought there was hope after Way Out East and I liked the graphics when they first came back.

Their relaunch was pretty good. They had some traction. Wasn't that through Giant originally? They stumbled there for a minute and I found it odd they were doing stuff through Syndrome and Prime at the same time. These legacy companies aren't aging well. Zero, Plan B, Element, and Stereo were on the feet of a lot folks in the 90s. DLX was the heyday for Stereo, but never forget the dumpster fire it became after Lee retired.
