I spent the week out of town several states away with a woman I am very very very fond of and have been my whole life. We have been very close, lost touch for years, but recently reconnected. It was me +her and her daughter. I'm very sure she has some sort feelings for me as well. We spent 4 days just doing life stuff, Halloween events at her daughters school, trick or treating etc. I fell asleep watching a movie with her daughter one night, and she climbed into bed with us and it was absolutely amazing and it felt natural and awesome and whatever other sappy adjective you want to use. Now I'm back home wishing for all of that again. I wouldn't trade it for anything but its like a taste of a life a may not be "allowed" to have and it hurts

Glad you had the experience. Its weird when we get a taste of those perfect moments that feel natural and then they vanish just as fast they arrived.

But, I've learned sometimes the moment is better than the future would have been. I've had a few moments that felt perfect shared with someone I thought was perfect. And, in that moment they were, but it wouldn't have been so great forever. Real life would have come in and it would have been quite different than a weekend together. The moment is more meaningful because it was short.

Almost like when one of favorite artists dies early. It is a tragedy to say the least, but we forever get to remember them for who they were in that moment. They remain that youthful spirit forever. They don't turn in Duane Peters ranting on YouTube how Tony Hawk has actually been switched with a woman or whatever craziness he was spouting.

Quote from: ChuckRamone
I love when people bring up world hunger. It makes everything meaningless.
"That guy is double parked."
"Who cares? There are people starving to death! Besides, how does that affect you? Does it lessen the joy of parking?

not sure if there’s a word for it but it’s not deja vu and it’s not nostalgia .. about 10,15 maybe even 20 years ago there used to be this homeless guy id see daily. i assume everyone has that one that they know and have a name for but you dont know them personally only by random occurrence of sight

this guy was young, face as red as the skin would allow, so tan that its hard to tell his race but white is what it had to have been. he wore a suit and walked at a nyc pace as if he’s running late to a board meeting.

i haven’t seen or thought about him in at least a decade maybe even two and just saw him walking down the sidewalk as i drive by. there was always another about the same age that wore flannels and had the same gait and pace that i always assumed they were brothers

just funny how we have these stored memories in our brains that are tucked away and when triggered come alive as vivid as they once were

What kind of mikey taylor logic is this?

Started walking again last week and am able to ride a stationary bike except I don't have one. I have a fixie so I woke up early and rode. Felt like Ricky Bobby out there. Briefly got speed wobbles and laughed at myself for it. Wasn't even going that fast. Every bump and every car had me thinking about my leg but I got my HR up and a lil perspiration.

Been following this with rapt attention. Not stoked on what happened to him of course, but seeing his progress and determination is amazing. Also, this really makes me realize what a privilege it is to be able to walk:

This little black circle with the dope ass font. It’s the dope wheel graphic in the history of wheel graphics.

Whoever designed it is a straight up muthafucker

The swirl is next in line behind the lil black circle.

Then it’s prolly like rat bones or maybe the oj 2 graphic? Street bones possibly. I love those.

I’m not stoked to be taking these off.
But at the Same time I’m like dying to ride the new wheel so I’m stoked. But then again the fucking rain man. It’s keeping the stoke-o-meter pinned in the not stoked zone. I gotta skate. I gotta skate!

I’m gonna sample this shit next album as an intro. dddddollar on a platter

I got put on paid leave again at work again this week. I'm not too depressed or stressed about it cuz ive already accepted the fact that I won't be working there much longer anyway. I have an interview for a better paying job and it's just time to move along.

Not stoked on rolling my ankle yesterday. Flip tricks have been the most stubborn to get back with this leg recovery, and my footwork has been off.

Stoked on the fact that I have a somewhat "normal" skateboarding injury compared to the others I've sustained this year. I can still walk, bear weight, etc and probably won't be off board for too long.
Also stoked that the weekend skate homie has some creative projects in mind to distract from skate withdrawal.

Talked to some woman on the phone from Hinge. It was cool to make a match and actually talk but the convo was one sided and a little weird. When asking where I was from and what my hobbies were she made weird remarks about race that didn’t sit too well with me. Not a big deal though. She was of the archaic social mindset that black people don’t skate, watch anime, or Star Trek. I had to tell her how diverse skateboarding is and how big anime is in black culture. Now I don’t know how popular Star Trek is in the larger culture, but it is a pointedly diverse socialist wet dream. The main characters in two of their series are black. This part of the conversation was relatively small, but it did take me aback a little. Nerds come in all flavors, people.

I’m stoked on winter break starting after work on Friday. I’m going with my family to Kansas City where my father and sister in law live. However, that means I’m stressing about finishing grading, giving students make up work and sending out report cards to admin.

trying to ollie at the bus station and it’s this kid staring at me. I don’t really mind. Then he comes closer I think he says something like “that’s difficult” and im like yeah it’s fun and a good way to get around

I could tell he wanted to skate so I let em. Idk if he skated before but he had pure joy of just pushing a little and rolling down slight incline. He had his hands in his pockets not even tryna be swag just cause it’s cold af but it actually wasnt still swag

Anyway so then the bus come. He always show the driver this note. I thought it was cause he didn’t speak English but he speaks perfect English? Idk maybe he parents don’t speak English. I think he might be autistic or sumn. But yeah the driver tell him get got a wait for next one and he was just so sad it made me sad. Just imagining my new lil homie out there in the cold waiting for the bus with no board. Got a find a way to get homie in the game.

Got a random call from an unknown number, ignored it. Same thing again, the next day, this time they left a message. They found my wallet and my business card in it had my number.... Phuck... Immediately, I went to my backpack where I believed it to be and sure enough... gone.

Anyway, arranged to meet the Good Samaritan and everything was still in it. Including my 4 $1 notes... haha... Hooked the dude up with 5lbs of Stumptown Coffeys and told him he has some serious good karma coming his way...

I dropped it around 6pm in a pretty sketch area and he found it around 9pm... nearly puked thinking about it....

Time to spread the positivity and set up a complete  to give away.

trust me you dont know the half of it. but unlike the vert ramp you can get actually get a burned up tesla pretty much anywhere lmao. got mine at an impound/foreclosure auction for $2200. chump change for an elite vert skater aristocrat like me.

honestly im kinda surprised i dont see more kids snapping that kind of thing up, i was the only one who offered up the floor and nobody bid against me. an awd tesla (admittedly with tons of dings and shit and about a week of back and forth getting the key paired) is worth it even if it breaks down a year from now. kinda crazy that it was like 1/3rd the price of my ancient civic. plus the battery makes juuuust enough range for the monthly 2 hr drive out to the ramp and back (with one of those construction site outlets to charge for the few hours im there ;))

Satin sheets are so comfortable but I hate having to adjust the fitted and flat sheets every morning, compared to just a comforter.

I’m stoked I installed a bidet toilet seat today. It’ll be nice to start using less toilet paper.

I’m not stoked about my bathroom sink being clogged and while the water was turned off to install the bidet, I loosened the p trap to try to get the gunk and hair out. I couldn’t loosen it all the way and then after giving up I think I tightened it too tight and now I have a tiny drip leak under my sink. I may have not aligned the pipe correctly and now I can’t loosen it to fix it.

My Meta Raybans are amazing. Giving Zuckerfuck ducats isn’t cool though. Arguing the utility of said glasses against luddites on Reddit is wack too. It’s like, you’re using tech by virtue of being on social media but you’re afraid of a guy with cameras in his glasses? Why the fuck would I want to film you anyway? That’s not how most users use it. I’m trying to listen to books and post skate clips to the gram. Also camera proliferation is a tool for the people as much as it is for the state. Thank Jebus we got all those angles on the murder of Renee Nicole Good. At least we got a chance in court to put away that nazi savage. I 100% get privacy concerns, but people are bugging on how much they think the world cares about their photos. Everybody’s identity has been compromised since the turn of the millennium. AND I physically have to turn on the camera to be recording anyway. I guess I could put stickers on the lights that indicate recording but I’m no creep. Unless there’s a chance to pirate media…Whatever, suck it haters! I’m coming for your private life.

is the footage always vertical? that was my main gripe. it seemed like it'd be nice for driving as an alternative/supplement to a dash cam. way easier just use those as my driving shades instead of my other ones

Perfected a grocery budget that is almost entirely sourced from Trader Joe’s. It’s the perfect amount of walking in the morning for a round trip since I walk every morning anyways.
They sell a tub of whole fat plain Greek yogurt that offers ~ 6 servings @ 145 grams each.
Never tasted a more satisfying Greek yogurt.
So breakfast is two servings of fruit and a serving of yogurt and after finishing it I’m always bummed that I can’t get all the residual scraped out with a traditional metal spoon.

I’m thinking I’ll have to eat with a silicone spatula/spoon hybrid to get every nutrient out of this bowl but I’m going to feel like a gerber baby by the end of it.
