prep cook/line cook/janitor at a brewery/pub/resturant depending on what day I'm working.

Not a real grown man job/carreer to be proud of like a lot of you dudes got, but my managers encourage drinking on the job, bumping my own music on the system, and cooking bitchin meals for myself on my janitorial nights, so that's pretty rad. I actually prefer cleaning floors to cooking. It's so chill it's stupid, and I'm all by myself. Kitchen work is way stressful due to busyness and shorthandedness due to greedy ownership, and everyone above you sweats your ass over the stupidest "I can't believe we're having a sit-down about this" shit.

Pay's pretty shitty, too, about a 1200 a month if I break 40h/week.

I'm sorta having an "I don't know what I wanna do with my life" chrisis, it sucks. I graduated highschool with like a 2.0 and all I've ever cared about is skateboarding. So I'm fuuuuucked.

I've been running this small skate/snow shop for the last 6 years. I started out part time and within a year i was the buyer and general all around dude. It's everything I could ever hope for in my life, as I don't aspire to be much. I've been slowly working towards buying in but the owner and my good friend has been dragging his feet kinda. Maybe he thinks I'm not serious or that I couldn't handle the amount of money he wants. I do feel pretty good because since I've been there sales have increased over 25% and it could be even more this year and can honestly say that it is attributed to my dedication to the shop .I kinda wish i was focused and had some master plan for my life but I don't. I sacrifice my income for spare time and personal happiness. At 33 I skate more than i did 10 years ago and I'm in the best physical shape of my life. I couldn't handle a really concrete life with schedules and bottom lines. It's not for me. My wife is mellow and also is doing what she loves and doesn't make a ton but we get by.We might have kids someday and have been together for 15 years and married for 9 this September. We have no debit and we are working on buying/building a house.
Less is more i say. I can't complain, life is pretty good besides this pinched nerve in my hip and not having health insurance.

going to school and working on a fry truck, which sounds really shitty, but its not. its right across from my school, lots of chicks to ogle, infront of the convention centre so you get to see some funny stuff. i served a full on darth vader a few weeks ago. the boss is crazy but cool, he'll usually buy beers for the day. free food(not just when im working) and it pays as well as a labour job, but is far less demanding.

i just quit my job. i was working in a warehouse where they build all kinds of cabinets. i worked in the shipping department though, i scanned the cabinets on to each pallet and then printed out the contents page. that part was easy, but when i first started i was one of the dudes who just wrapped pallets that held up to like 12 feet of cabinets. it was like getting paid to work out 9 to 10 hours a day.

3rd cook in a steakhouse that's brutally busy and understaffed. I guess I owe them respect for giving me steady hours, but I'm sick of working all evenings and weekends at a stressful job, and having no social life. I'm looking into office temping right now. My goal is to have a respectable Monday to Friday, 9 to 5 job.

Ran a skate shop in grad school, some local kids' parents put up the money to open accounts/pay the first few months rent. It made me hate the industry and most kids so when I finished school I was done with the shop too.

Now I'm a school counselor and might start teaching a night class at NAU.
