These Marc and Howard have been getting the most of my skate lately:
-Marc-Howard-
[close]

how do the Marc's feel in comparison to the Howards?

The Marc isn't as snug all around as the Howard. They fit more like a traditional vulc shoe. But being a vulc the sole make them a little bit heavier than the Howard. That said, they're every bit as stable of a fit and feel (as the Howard) and the Lakai sole/herringbone tread is unbeatable for board control. The Marc is also cut a little bit higher and sit right at the part of your ankle that sticks out. They're definitely much more durable than the Howard too. I feel like I hammer mine and they look like they've barely been skated in.

The Marc is actually a really tech shoe without looking like a tech shoe.

I had my first decent sesh in what seemed like months yesterday. Anyway, I was skating in some Old Skools (a first for me, I haven't skated in Vans in years) which I picked up on the cheap from my shop because they were the last pair.

Yeah, they aren't exactly the most comfortable things in the world after a few hours.

I skated them yesterday for a couple hours, my initial impressions:

The right one dug into my achilles pretty bad at first but wore in after the first session. I might've got a blister if I didn't bandaid my achilles first.

Very comfortable, the shoe has the same sole as the Reynolds, so I (luckily) ordered a half size down - the shoe hugs my foot well and is in no danger of falling off. Very thin though. There is the rubber sole, stitched to the upper, and the 3mm ortholite flat insole. Great board-feel, good insole, however I wouldn't jump down big things with these.

They're going to be pretty durable considering the stitching on the outside is cosmetic, it is actually stitched on the inside. Any other thoughts and I'll update.

Edit: Oh and they're slightly more pointy than the original laced, which imo makes kickflips way more fun

i've always wondered why more companies do this.
oh wait, it's because companies are evil and want to sell more shoes

Maybe you should ask someone who actually has the Silas.
Maybe, you should not reply, if you have nothing worth to contribute.

@sheboyganheadben: Stick to whatever size you normally buy. The width is a bit snug, at first, and the length is about a half size larger.

I'm confused. What sense does it make to tell him to get his regular size but then say they fit a half size larger?

the puigs true to size?

ive worn a 9.5 and a 9. 9's fit better. the toe area is pretty big on that shoe.

i usually wear vans and im a 9 in all of their styles if that gives you a better idea. if you have a shop that carries them, id just go try a pair on so you dont get the wrong size.

You put so much effort in to positioning the shoes yet left the empty fucking red vine tub and your masturbation lotion in the shot.

I got some Sperry's that look like those, good looks.

do you, or anyone else, have heel slippage problems in these? I tried these on in 9.5 and 10 it was infuriating.
Or maybe I'm just used to the Howards, where your heel is fucking watertight locked in them shits

1. I'm not regular so it didn't really take too much effort to stack the shoes.
2. I'm a huge red vines fan and the left over tubs are dead useful for putting bullshit in. Get on my level.
3. I've made it very clear several times that masturbating is a real chore for me due to my medication. I masturbate maybe once every two weeks right now. While I do use that lotion to get the job done, I'd say maybe 5% of it is used for my peen, and the rest is for my ashy ass elbows. No shame in my game anyway.
4. Thanks. I think they're nice too.
