Recently bought these Adidas Silas SLRs from Orchard as part of their Cyber Monday event, I haven't skated in them yet, but they look great and feel good now that I'm breaking them in. I'm wondering how different they'll be from the Es Vancouvers I was skating in previously.

Also just wanted to give a public thanks to Bro Gumpright for being so personable and helpful. I'll shop at Orchard again just because of how cool he was.  And in addition to the shoes, I received a handwritten thank you note from him, as well as a Expedition/Orchard drawstring bag, a copy of Skate Jawn, and some nice stickers.

My Nike connect hooked it up. Janoski, Janoski SE and GT blazer. Too bad they're all vulcs. Don't do vulcs.

Probably will sell or trade them in for Dunks or any other Nike cupsole.

yoo anyone want to give me some insight on the huf sutters???
[close]

Only buy them if they're on sale and if you use shoe goo. I blew a hole in mine in the second or third session. I haven't skated them enough to tell if the grip will last, but there was some noticeable wear by the fourth session. However, they are really comfy, probably the comfiest thin shoe I've ever skated.
[close]

Do yourself a favor and try the lakai cambys. I've had the Sutters and they were very mediocre. Cambys are hands down the best thin shoes I've skated

[close]

I've got the Cromer Sutters, which I think might be a little different from other Sutters (just like I noticed with Mateos). They have a flat, thin, squishy insole that feels good.

I've got some Cambys. I haven't skated them, but I like how wide they are in the toe and yeah they are comfy. I have yet to find a better shoe than the Habitat Austyns and Dovers. I'll move on to Cambys once I can't find anymore Habitats.

Completely agree with Clamy on the Huf Sutter. The midsole and insole are outrageously comfortable. Huf uses Ortholite in those. But the shoe overall isn't anything special in way of durability or skateability. It's an overpriced thin vulc, IMO.

Lakai Camby or MJ is way better value for your dollar.

My hook up over at dwindle just sent me some overstock Fallen shoes. The thing is they're shoes, I don't do shoes, because I'm a Hobbit and I skate barefoot. Gonna have to trade these for some lembas bread, you na'mean.

I got shoes from Nike to do whatever I want with them. Skate them, burn them, whatever I want.

THEY DON'T CARE. I am probably gonna end up trading in the GT for dunks and wear around the Janoski.

I got shoes from NB# to 'wear-test'. No way I am selling those shoes, they were nice enough to send me kicks to try out. I even got messages if I wanted to sell them, I declined.

I am pretty sure Pro skaters sell product that they get for FREE to make profit. I am certainly not the first if I ever wanted to sell the SB's.

I feel you, but you forgot to mention the Expo and/or Lark (even if it is a slightly bit bulkier).
The internet over here doesn't offer habitats for me anymore. I just bought the lakai Fura and Pico on sale. The look nice. I wonder how they will skate in comparison to Habitat.

They are nubuck/synthetic upper. Definitely not suede but looks good and probably even better to skate in.

Second pair. It was a toss up between these and the Grant Taylor's. These were cheaper and more comfortable.

Do the Marana's have good heel "lock" ?   I'm asking b/c my last 2 shoes were the Booze vulc and the Cons Weapon. The Busenitz would come off my feet every now and then, sometimes when I pushed fast. It got really frustrating, but then the Weapons on the other hand have kept my heel in place really well, kinda like a basketball shoe would.

depends, the "regular" ones have better heel lock than the vulc ones. i would try them on at a shop though. what might work for you is the dc mikemo (yeah, i know..) but its slim shape and shoe-in-shoe concept works really well.

Found these at Ross for 16 bucks. Needed new shoes to skate in, found these in my size for a cheap ass price, so I got them. They feel real comfy and cushiony. Anyone know the model name? There's no name on the tongue or insole or anything, it's just the DC logo and the Super Suede logo, so I'm guessing it's a team model.

this has happened to several shoes with me from various brands. I think it has to with the shoe maybe being to small
