The NB# Arto 358 shoe is a total brick. I like NB and I like Arto but this is a swing and miss. They look nice on foot, but that's where it ends. They are really wide (like a shoe from the late 90s) and for being a vulc they're stiffer than the HUF Dylan. Crazy stiff. Truthfully they feel like I'm wearing the Etnies Vallely 1. These will be in the Classifieds soon.

[close]

These do feel a wider and stiffer than other NB# vulc models. I liked mine after breaking them in, but when I put them on initially I definitely agreed with you.

Nice!!!!

Well you're skating a shoe that's decades old, and is mostly purchased by non-skaters now. Try skating their pro range.

My pair from 8 years ago held up far better. Vans are trash these days.

Impulse buy. Suede star players on sale from the converse outlet. Not sure if they're the skate ones. They came with normal insoles instead of the lunarlons, so I'm guessing not.

I like that shoe, looks sick (especially the burgundy ones), just not a fan of mesh on the toebox of skate shoes.

I need to find a pair. So many great Adidas shoes are gone after a year. I'd love some Silas 1's and another paid or SLR's.

They also have such an awesome back catalog of classic shoes that they should make skate-able. The superstars and Stan smiths great. Like how they did the locator and locator mid but wish they'd bring it back without the DGK branding.

Are those the Stan Smiths? What did you not like about them? The shop here has a few pairs on sale in my size.

Yes, and they are THE most uncomfortable shoe I've ever put on my foot - waaaay too narrow and the internal sprint skin cuts into my foot in like 6 different places. Pay me the postage from Japan and I'll ship them anywhere! Never hated a pair of shoes this hard! I'm honestly astounded that this shoe and the Silas 1 were put out by the same company

Anybody else have slight issues with NB# sizing? I'm weartesting a pair now and they pinch so bad in the toes but everyone always says they are true to size.

Also, they are the best New Balances I have seen yet and skate very well but holy shit they need to stretch out!

will microwaving fuck up your shoes? is there any difference between microwaving cup and vulc shoes? how hot can you microwave them? ive only ever microwaved a pair of griffin xlks, it didnt do much, the sole got super hot but the suede was just lukewarm. can you microwave a shoe several times? im scared the sole will separate from the suede. how hard do you guys cook your shoes? i mean like 60 seconds but how hot? is the suede supposed to be super hot?

so many questions what is life

also, i know your not supposed to put metal in the micro wave, but what actually happens? does the lace loops explode? do the start warping?
is the cyst on my balls an std? why can you pee without pooping but not poop without peeing?

thanks.

Suciu ADV or NB# PJ Ladd?

Have skated them both (although the the PJs were from the first blackbox run)  & preferred the suciu's for their superior cushioning system & flick. Not that I had any complaints about the NB's, I can see why they're so popular, but personally i prefer the look & feel of the suciu's. That adiprene midsole is just too good & the "waves" on the toecap help me get those kickflips & tre's off proper. In my experience the PJs were a solid performer all-round, I just couldn't name anything about them that's "better" IMO

Microwaving the cyst on your balls will help.

I do 30-40 second increments. These are cup soles and it softens the sole so it stretches and then as it cools it forms around your foot. Never had any issues with metal eyelets though I can't recall ever microwaving them before...

As far as I can tell it doesn't harm the glue, what do we know? We destroy all of our shoes anyway

Yeah, just 30/40sec, 60 is too much. Metal eyelets dont do anything if it's just a little time (i always forget my spoon on the milk cup ahah)... I've done this with regular chucks and nothing happened. Just try not to over bend the shoes when they are hot because the glue is warmed and the soles can peel. Just slip your feet, tie them tight as hell and walk a little on the kitchen till they cool and mold to your feet.

does microwaving work for stretching shoes? or does it mainly work for breaking them in? i never have problems breaking in shoes anyways. also if you tie them super tight wont that pull the eyelets closer? that could be useful for some shoes if you rip the laces a lot.

If that E wasnt on there id love to try those!

If they are anything like maranas(I have the willow model) they are beyond comfy and fit perfect. I got six pair cheap so I lucked out on that. But honestly they are so comfy outta the box I wear a pair around the house instead of my oldman slippers.
