whats the difference between skate vans and regular vans? can you skate regular vans? is the outsole (waffle grip) the same?
do pro and regular shoes fit the same? is it worth it to buy regulars?
does the authentic and era fit the same?
i live hours away from everything so i cant just try on shoes
i havent had vans in forever. has the quality improved? do they still bag out? i want them to bag out as 10 is way to big and 9.5 is tight.
What do you wear now or like wearing?
i had a bunch of shoes layin, but my feet grew so ive been dealing with alot of pain for the last 3 months. im so scared of getting a bunion i know that will fuck up you shoe game forever. but ive been skating cupsoles mostly, wanna get back on some vulcs. had some lakai cambys, lakai really stepped up their quality.
why?
So I could offer suggestions haha. You don't want to fuck up your feet, I wouldn't suggest vans for long term solutions ( my opinion, I know others feel different ). I have two pair now but only for around the house or walking around. I tried skating them a couple times and am not about that shit, but I'm old and years of skate shoes with no support/cushioning have taken their toll. You want to not worry about your feet, then get something with cushioning/support. Unfortunately if you are about "core" brands you will be very limited. All the sole tec stuff I've had recently I'd swap out insole day one ( I really like the new hsu fwiw, just needs a better insole ). Vans, I haven't found a pair that I wanted to skate more than a day or two and usually just tranny. I can't comment on Lakai as I never felt inclined to try any. Honestly in all the shoes I've skated, there have been more Adidas models that have felt good than any other company I've tried ( which is most of them ) That adiprene insole is awesome and provides a decent amount of cushion/support but still has good boardfeel. Its in the Superstar ( vulc ) and the Suciu ( cup ). I'm also partial to the Busenitz pro. If you don't have a local, I'd just hit a bunch of online shops, you should be able to find shit cheap enough to try out and not be at too bad a loss if you don't like them.
Anyway, probably more than you were looking for. So yeah, with what you were saying I wouldn't go with non pro vans as they are even less support/cushioning. And era's give a decent amount and are probably the only vans that I actually have enjoyed wearing ( but still would never jump down shit in them )
