Anyone got anything to say about the Lunar Janoski or the Bruin Hyperfeel? Skating the Busenitz ADV now - which I really like - but can get either of the Nikes for a steal.

I'd recommend Bruin over Lunar Janoski. To me the Janoski feels like you've wrapped your foot in thick but incredibly expensive paper. The sole is good, but the rest is not so good.

today i found some vans eras in a vans outlet, i dont remember if it was a collab or not. anyways they had the ultracush sole, but with some sort if gel in the heel and forefoot. the strobel board (or whatever the carboard piece is called) was also different than the usual cardboard one. it was slick, and seemed thicker, it also came in 2 pieces. the whole shoe just seemed like way better quality than regular pro shoes, and it was a bit heavier i think. was this a premium kind of thing? ive been hearing about how older vans had gel in the heel. so was this an older model?

Those vans insoles are golden. I have been running a pair of those since 2011.  After 30 or so machine washes, they still appear newish.   Ultra cush on the other hand is awful, just as bad as lunarlon.

I'd go with lunar janoski over hyperfeel, the hyperfeel's have a garbage insole.

im trying so hard not to hate vans but damn. when did their quality start dropping? i skated my eras 9 times before they had a hole and the sole was gone. they were also really uncomfortable and fell apart on the inside. ultracush was okay iguess,  but did not absorb a lot of impact.

i succsessfully removed the the swooshes on my ck´s. first i cut off the swoosh with an exacto, then i pulled out the treads with a pair of pliers. then to remove the glue i used some gripgum. super easy and works perfect. removed 100% of the glue no problems. just rub the suede hard in different directions, it came right off for me. there was still a slight silhoutte, but that goes away with wear and dirt.

I used to skate Vans exclusively but stopped a year or two back because the quality dropped so badly, not just mildly either, it was noticeably much worse. Soles peeling off, soles cracking, use of inferior glue, shoes feeling flimsy as fuck when they used to feel solid, etc. I think Ive only bought two pairs of vans in the last couple of years because of this, and those were both impulse buys that were rather recent too, and guess what? They still sucked. On one pair the sole came unglued from the shoe after three sessions and on the other pair the toecap blew out after the first ten minutes of a session (both pairs were suede models too, not just some thin canvas authentics or eras or something). It sucks cuz the old skools in black and white are my favorite shoes of all time, but I can't bring myself to buy another pair knowing of their sketchy quality. If they pick the ball back up on their quality I'd start supporting them again in an instant.

They look bulky, but feel a lot thinner. Actually I'm little bit afraid how it'll turn out with primo landings.

The soles on that shoe are the real winners.

That is the kind of sole that the highlights should have had. Sti foam with actual rubber underneath the main areas. Still light but grippy and durable.
