Do you find the sole to be slippery? on my pair they were really slippy, and I want blazers again, but not if they still haven't changed the sole to make it more grippy.

that's odd, I found the sole to be super grippy in the two pairs I've skate so far. (assuming it's the same rubber they use in janoskis too)

Yeah, I've never had problems with the blazer high's but the low's I had were terrible. My friend had the same colour way and he had the same problem so maybe it's just that colour way? Anyways those look really nice.

any of you have recommendations for shoes with good arch support? i'm sure anything cupsole will be superior to a vulc but i also don't really want that bulky/big of a shoe. also could i just get better arch support from buying some sort of dr. scholl's?

Project BA! Or get some footprints cause there's ones with exceptional arch support.

I dont know if he would like the thickness of the sole on the BA's. Maybe if you can find the lunar janoski or the nike one shot it will suit your taste better. They have a similar arch shape to the project BA but with a thinner midsole.

I feel like project BA's are so accessible. It was the first cupsole shoe I tried that I liked.

word thanks for the replies thus far. i know the shop i go to had the hyperfeel janoskis last time i was there, not sure how similar those are. i was also thinking about the new kyle walkers. i also feel like i remember someone on here saying those footprint orthotics feel like concrete and aren't that great?

I cant talk about the Footprint insoles or the K-Walks Vans, althrought those dont seem to offer any arch support.
Here you can see a lateral cut on both shoes, the BA's and the One shot (That have the same sole as the lunar janoski) and see the similarities in the arch shape.
(images are huge, so open them in other page)

I am myself a huge fan of the BA's but I can see why people dont like the thickness. If you like a good amout of boardfeel they arent for you, so you have those other two options. You may find them cheaper now that they discontinued them.

I went from some cushy ass lay-z-boy lunarlons to custom gamechangers and while the gamechangers aren't anywhere near as comfortable, they're a million times more supportive. The lunarlons were really cushioned, but that's all they did and it isn't really what you need while you're skating. Gamechangers aren't uncomfortable at all, they're just purpose built instead of being just big soft things.

^^^ Be careful lacing those DVS, the rubber lace holes ripped and the shoe started slipping around.
It once flipped 90 degrees

I finally got some FP Gamechangers and have been wearing them everyday skating or not (I used to wear custom orthotics) and not only do my legs not hurt as much at the end of the day my restless leg syndrome has all but gone meaning I don't end up kicking my wife while sleeping.

i mean a 14 is a size bigger than what i normally buy, but yeah, even with a size 13 most of the time i have to buy stuff online, and sometimes i try to buy it online and they run out of 13's, so it can be kinda shitty on occasion

also speaking of the shoes i just bought, i saw this randomly on amazon, dont know if its buy-able but if you have a size 12 and want to try its it's $19.99, just thought i'll let ya'll know.

That makes sense. I used to wear them all the time when I was younger (as chillers) and from memory I thought maybe the sole felt slippery. Anyway, watching the skate clips Paul Shier posted on his IG this morning got me thinking about them, it looked like he was skating in them. Wouldn't be the first time I wanted a pair of white shoes after watching a Shier clip. True story - a few years back I actually bought a pair of white DVS Jarvis bc he made them look good.

I was thinking about this the other day too. I dont like the vulc/skate version, the cupsole/classic just looks a lot better. I dont know about the grip but it looks decent, the little dots look deep enough to last a while.
I really like the mid version too, i just dont know about the toe shape. Too squarish i guess.

I'm gonna grab a pair and give them a shot. It looks like Adidas actually updated the sole a little bit and the insole, which IMO would make them skate a little better. If nothing else they make a great pair of chillers.  ;D

My wife has a pair of Stan Smith's. They're big with Asian American mom fashion bloggers right now. I like the way they look but the leather? seems really soft and thin, I don't think it would hold up very well.

They are the number one shoe on set for photo shoots. Every studio that I work in everyone is wearing stan smiths and a palace shirt.
