Anyone skated both the Emerica Hsu G6 and the Reynolds Low (cupsole). If so, how would you compare them?
Reynolds low is a little thicker than the Herman g6 and fits more snug. I prefer the Reynolds.

Thanks guys. I ordered the Reynolds from Emerica's black friday sale. In the end I didn't really think the HSU G6s fit my style and I've been reading all the praise for the Reynolds cup here, so I figured I can't go wrong with those.  :)

Nah, my levis cords are probably my favorite pants right now, maybe you just need a pic of the full fit to get hot and bothered over  :-*

I had those same cords, a little too slim for me, but who else makes olive cords. My griptape tore the bottom to shreds, though.

They were a bit too slim for me at first too, but after I lost some weight for my wedding I tried them on again and am pretty psyched on them now.  Definitely not for everyone though for sure

Got those dunk sb's for 17 euros at the outlet store. Always wanted a pair since I saw the Marnell NBTT part, but never pulled the trigger.
Hyped on them being the puffy ones and not the Ishod version, not really hyped on the colorway but I'll probably gonna customize it. Had to go half size down tho, the toe box on the TTS felt giant!

Fuck it, I like the colour.

I like the orange toe, i just dont like the pattern on it. I also dont like the fish scales on the swoosh, it looks like snake skin. :|

I want to paint the toe black and somehow remove the scales, but the suede dye I'm finding on the web cost almost as much as the shoes!

I've got a pair of Freeday shoes for my birthday. It's one of those unoriginal Brazilian skate companies (aka all of them but Ous which is dope). The sizing is odd and the insoles are paper thin. What's weird is that all of the pro models have some kind of faux-heraldry, logos based on the pro's lives. Adelmo Jr. is some Habitat-looking thingie with a leaf on top, this other guy's is a heart with his initials, and my shoe is a guy named Ricardo Porva's pro model. Which is a mix of the wheelchair "blue pictogram" with a skater skitching on a ponytailed stick figure's wheelchair.

I looked the guy up and the guy's daughter is disabled. I didn't recognize the guy's name, but I remember the family being on the news once, because this Porva guy came up with a conoction that would allow the girl to stand up and skate.

Here's a bad pic from the internet. My phone only takes pictures in potato quality. I absolutely love the colorway. The shoe feels too stiff and kinda loose. But you know what they say about looking in the mouths of gift horses. This was a busy sunday, since I had to work, I wore them. Hopefully they'll be taken to the griptape as soon as they don't feel stiff.

[close]

recently the freeday team all came to China and when they were in Guangzhou i was able to show em around to some spots. I was chilling with Ricardo the most. Amazing dudes. How'd they skate?

That's awesome. The shoes still feel like clogs, and the mesh-like cloth around the eyelets has some bursting... I had to nuke the shoes in the microwave for them to feel better. It seems like something I'll get to get used to. The sole is really hard. Only had one session in them yet, though.

Honestly, had mine for a little over a year at this point

I rotate insoles depending on how my feet feel

Plus, I've been skating relatively lightly

I only switched mine out because I could smell them through my shoes. They felt a little packed in but not to where I had to get rid of them. Just my stank.

Are FP's really worth it? I've never been able to justify spending 40 quid on some insoles - just seems over the top

In comparison to Dr. Scholls, Remind, and any other brand they seem more useful. They don't flatten out on impact and provide support. Definitely not as cushiony as the flat insole or Ultracush HD (gel ones).

Yes, the game changers last a long time, constructed well. Most importantly, they hold it's shape and mold and does not flatten out.

I prefer the flatter models. I've also never seen a study that proves arch support is actually necessary/helpful. I've only read studies that show the opposite; that our arches in the foot are made to cushion impact, and taking that away seems like it would only transfer more impact to more vital parts of the body (knees/hips/back). That's just my 14 years talking. As for the insoles, I'd say they're worth the money.

There's a tradeoff somewhere though. If you have high arches and don't take care of them enough, you might develop issues like plantar fasciitis.

There's a tradeoff somewhere though. If you have high arches and don't take care of them enough, you might develop issues like plantar fasciitis.

If by "take care of" you mean "stretch," then yes. Stretching will help prevent issues like plantar fasciitis.

If by "take care of" you mean "get shoes with arches to fit your arch," then no, you will only create a better environment for plantar fasciitis to develop.

not doctrine but from the fpinsole.com website:

"HIGH ARCH - You need an impact absorbing insole without arch support to combat Supination.

Supination - The exact opposite of Over Pronation. Your arch is too high which causes your ankle to roll outwards upon impact.

You tend to roll and sprain your ankle, get heel bruises, are more likely to break your ankle.

Because your ankle leans outwards, orthotics/arch support will generally be ineffective. Most impact is sent to your heels and forefoot so you need as much impact protection as possible. This is why we have specially made our kingfoam (elite) insoles series for you."

As someone who has had lots of pain due to the combination of having flat feet and skating, I can tell you that arch support helps a lot. I just wrote a paper and did a presentation for my physiology class on this topic. When you have flat feet, they don't act nearly as well as shock absorbers. This can lead to a lot of things, like plantar fasciitis and other painful inflamed tissues in the feet. It can also lead to permanent damage in the knees, hips, and spine. The first things that doctors recommend are supportive footwear (which skate shoes honestly are not) and rigid orthotic insoles.

This is exactly right. I was only speaking about my personal situation when I said there there would be little to no value for shoes with arch support.

High arch? Get flat insoles

Low/No arch? Get insoles with arch support.

Seized the 2 for 1 Romero deal emerica was doing on cyber Monday. Got myself three pairs, homie had the fourth pair.
