I had some romero for cheap, they look identical from upper, with synthetic suede....still can't figure out why they made them that low with no heel support, and knife edges that cut your achilles...I regret having bought them, now they're my pimp shoes lol ouch !

I have a pair of the older versions of that (Leo) shoe that I wear to work and that knife cut is no joke, probably took about 6 months to wear in! Defs would not skate in them. The Ryan Lay's, while looking very similar, are designed with skating in mind so if you like that look and don't mind hightops they are a pretty worthy shoe

Picked up a pair of the Polar Jacks a little over a week ago.
Really comfortable, they feel like they are made well.
Pretty bummed how dirty they are now but ill clean them up this weekend.

I've been wearing these State Elgins for less than a week - the canvas is NOT durable. Tore through to the sock within about 6 hours of skating. Really skateable besides that, would definitely cop a suede version.

Skated them for the first time today, and I was pleasantly surprised. They're really great shoes, comfortable to boot. I got mine in the usual size I wear, but they fit pretty snug. I feel like I should've gone half a size up.

Has anyone else skated leather Huf Classic Hi's? The tongue keeps sliding to the side and it sucks. Never had this problem with my suede pair. Should I just take my razor and cut out a little stablizer strap?

I've skated them and had the exact same problem. I never tried the stabilizer method, I just lived with having my tongue on the side of my foot by the end of every session.

They did last way longer than the suede ones though.

Anyone wearing the Crockett II currently? Those white/gum have me with my credit card out. In most brands I'm a 10 and most vans I'm 9.5 (the thinner ones like the sk8 mid and era) but have to go 10 for some. Don't make me go to my local.

for me, they fit true to my regular Vans size.  they are a 'thinner' pro

I feel like I could go a half size smaller in Crockett 2's, they're wider than many of the other shoes I skate. Ultimately my normal size worked fine though.

Fwiw on sizing on nike's site they let you add other shoes you found fit you well and then give you the cons size you'd want.  For me on the purcells they recommend a full size down which I feel is right, so it's nice that at least on this one it worked for me
