"Just use shoe goo" is forgiving the fact that they make $80+ shoes that you immediately have to do something extra and third party to for them to serve their purpose.

Also, it's really not that bad.  Without extras, they blow out in that side stitching in the same amount of time as the toe stitching on the dunk.  Just one line of super glue was enough.

My favorite shoe for regular wear. For skating they are kind of useless since they blow out in about 3 sessions unless you use shoegoo. But they look sooooo good.

[close]

Then use the shoe goo...I just use super glue.  The shoe skates great.

I´m doing that and know it skates great. I will keep buying them. Still agreeing with SFB though.

Exactly, they breathe so well and once you swap the insole for something with actual cushion they are almost perfect... except for the tearing. Have they dropped a full suede or leather version yet?

Yes, they have made an all black colorway with gum sole. I bought them. They are really stiff compared to the mesh ones. It was also my first adidas shoe with a serious defect. Here is a picture

I wear size 11.5 in Vans slip ons. What size should I be looking for in Vans Sk8 Hi's?
I have a pair of really old Sk8 Hi's that were NOS, that are an 11, and fit well.

Suggestion - never ever buy straye shoes. I have the slip ons. Works for everyday wear, but completely unskateable. The shoes fell apart after 3 sessions, suede version. Parts of the sole just peeled off in a very strange way.

Finally retiring my reynolds g6 shoes after 4 months of skating. Based on fitbit data i skated them for 67 hours and 49 sessions. About 3 times a week. I mainly skate a diy spot we have been building...skating some transition and lots of ledge stuff.

good job on the Reynolds, that's what a skated shoe should look like!

A lot of my friends have skated them fine, and say that they're good. Then again none of them really nerd out over skate shoes. My main concern is the tread and stability as theyre so high off the ground.

I skated them for a few sessions, the grip is decent but only if you have brand new grip. Other than that they were way too slippery.

I haven't had any problems with the grip. Also the stability issue re high sole is a trick of the eye, they're not high or unstable at all. I really like them and will get them again.

Question:
(I tried searching for a thread about this but came up emptyhanded)
Anyone have experience with “de puffing” shoes?
I have some Dunk hi’s that I would like to remove some padding (from the heel collar) from.
Anyone done anything like that?

I’ve seen it done on tongues but not a heel liner, my only advice is try and find a seam and see if you can make a small incision and pull out the stuffing with tweezers or something
