Nah, I've had to lay people off in the past (not in skating) and I think you have to man up, be honest and explain things to them face to face - it's a respect thing and whilst no-one wants to be let go, I think it's a lot easier if you say the reasons and not be an asshole about it; make it as easy as possible for them and give them as much time as possible to sort themselves out

doing it by email or phone is cowardice and a huge diss

James was not let go from Circa because of a budget issue or because we had no sympathy for his knee injury. He also wasn't let go through some corporate letter.

Good looks on all the good words! It was completely out of the blue, Rob or that long hair kook said nothing what so ever. I guess they watched office space and got a few new marketing ideas, The Bob's are really make some elite moves. The money was whatever so not really bummed about that and all the rest of my sponsors are backing me for sure.
