Hey MFS, I still have a Hi8 vcr too... those things are dope!

I own a fucked up VX2000... I used to film my friends for fun and edit videos. It's pretty fun but I'd much rather be skating.

Maybe somebody here can answer a question I've been reluctant to sign up for Skate Perception to ask.  Do you have to use the death lens that's marketed specifically for a DVX for a DVX, or can you get a VX one on there?  The DVX one is harder to find and more expensive.
You can get the mk2 for the vx's and take the bayo off which reveals 72mm threads (I believe). Then it just threads on to the front, but you are probably better off just getting the dvx death for your dvx.

And you don't need an account to just go look.

DVX Fisheye Footy doesn't look good in my opinion. Those blue flares on the Vignetting is so distracting.. I personally love the VX1k Mk1 Setup.

I just hate how it makes it look digi. Awkwardly sharp and soft at the same time. Everyone buys the camera because it is the next best thing under 10,000.

Yeah, exactly what I think. The sound is strange too.

i agree, everyone dickrides the vx1 because its super easy to control the colours and exposure. id rather own a dvx than a vx1 anyday.

The DVX is the best camera, but not really for skateboard filming. Nothing can beat the Mk1 on the VX1. I just don't like to watch DVX Fisheye stuff. The CA kills it. But maybe it's just me..

shouldn't

well said, I'll admit some of the fish shots look a little too sharp, but nothing beats dvx for long lens shots.

I've had a vx1 for years, and a dvx b for like 2 and a half. I put up a clip I made in the video forum a few days ago.

How do you like the DVX and you have any advice in looking for a good used one?

I'm going to school for film though, so skateboarding's not my only priority.  And I know it's not popular with everyone, but I really like the way skating looks in 24p.

That makes sense. The DVX is the better camera if you're not filming skateboarding. The good thing about living in Europe is that i can achieve the 24p look with my VX better, because of the 25fps PAL framerate.

obvious exaggeration, theres just a giant lack of originality on skateperception from what ive noticed. keep in mind i have spent barely any time on the forum there.

Well that is kind of obvious, they all just do what is trendy. You get a whole bunch of people together and they will eventually share the same idea of what filming should be. The exact same thing happens here with skating, except for a select few.

actually i see a lot of diversity here on what people like to see as far as certain skaters and tricks.
If someone isn't into a dude then they don't post in the topic unless they hate them.
and in some cases most people will like specific skaters.
generalizing is lame, try and do it less.

most of the ppl on perception think that in one year every skate video is gonna be hd, even tho the fisheye for it is the worst thing in the world.
