@Unkle Fleak @Plan9Customs Thinking of you, pals. I know from experience that knowing this doesn't make it any easier, but you both did the right thing.

Boy, did this one hit home this morning. I snapped at my dog on a walk last July because he was taking forever and I was in a rush. A week later he was gone, it turned out he had super advanced spinal cord cancer. He didn't take so long because he was being a dick, he took so long because fucking cancer had eaten through this spine. I don't usually dwell on the past much but I just can't shake this one.
Ive got it on good authority that all pets are omniscient, making all their decisions deliberate to get their desired reaction out of us. He knew you needed to let some steam off and gave you the opportunity. Jokes aside, I feel your pain. Having my dogs from 19-32, I had a lot of growing up to do in that time and they deserved better but I did my best nonetheless.

Drove an hour to link with a homie from college while I was on staycation. Picked dude up, was acting weird. Told me he smoked meth two days prior. Pulled a bag of cocaine from his wallet just to show me? Idk. Skated for 20 minutes and he barely did anything, offered to just get lunch. Got cheap tacos, split the bill and I left. We're supposed to skate again Saturday morning. 9am. What do I even say man. We've partied before but I'm creeping up on 30 and I seldom have more than a few beers on a weekend. My friends fucked up.

I’m sorry yo. If you’re both almost 30 you gotta just voice your concerns and maybe point the way to detox if you know it and hope for the best. Just don’t do that shit pal. It’s the most not worth it shit I can think of.

My boundaries when dealing with my meth/crack friends are well maintained. Especially if we used to party. Ex running partners know better than to bring anything like that around me. I’m unbreakable and
I’m only gonna speak matters of detoxification with them.

We can skate but then let’s go to the emergency room and say the magik words yo. Ok?

The squirrels keep getting to my birdfeeders, no matter how many deterrents I install, and despite having a 1 acre yard filled with chestnut and walnut trees...

The 3rd week on shingles as well, between the itching from said virus and having to discontinue my PA treatment in the duration, I'm ready to rip my skin off...

Yeah man. Having a talk with him is really the only thing I can do. I don't condone but it's his life lead.

And yeah, don't get it twisted, I don't go anywhere near that stuff. Hard to go skate with a hangover yea

Not that I could even bring myself to shoot a squirrel, it really doesn't matter anymore, my landlord of the last 8 years emailed us on Monday that he is selling the property and we have 6 weeks to vacate...

I live in an extremely high cost of living area with a really weak, but competitive rental market, so this week has been absolute shit...

i hate kids sports leagues
shits so dumb. people get so angry about their kids not moving up leagues by such and such age.
my wife really angry my daughter isnt moving up in cheer. first of all, the chance you are ever going to turn that into a career is like 1 in a million. also, there are still lots of skills to be learned in this league. i dont understand the rush.

also people seem unable to see their child as a part of the larger organization. they just think "my child has the skills, why dont they get a chance? its not fair". nothing is fair. imo unless you are absolutely dominating your league, you shouldnt move up early. my wife is angry she has paid all this money for extra training and she isnt being moved up. She is missing the point imo.

there was this guy i knew called Jay
i used to think he was weird, he did weird tricks, dressed weird, but in actuality, we were probably quite similar in skill level. i thought i was a lot better than him at the time. then eventually i kinda of lost interest in skating for a bit, but he just kept skating. i saw him many years later and he was absolutely killing it, and he kind of grew into his style and he is actually the nicest guy ever.  he is a way better skater and human than i will ever be.

i told this story to my wife but she couldnt care less

TIL that there is a Lamborghini SUV. And it looks exactly like a Chrysler grocery-getter.

I’m not a car guy, but if that thing doesn’t have scissor doors, what are we even doing?

Michael Jordan’s son drives (used to drive?) one.

which is a Lambo; which is a Dodge?

Went for a really long hike yesterday and then had a long skate session trying to battle a trick. Now I’ve had a headache for two days because I overdid it.

Did you land it? Do it for Marc!

I regret skating everytime after a hike, too. Always need to wait the next day. I went for a 5 hr hike in China recently. I tried skating after but could hardly stand on the thing later that afternoon.

I’m sick and have a rolled ankle, but at least I don’t have to go to work while being upset about Marc.

I imagine it’s going to be hard the first few skates back, however.

On eBay just last week there was a chocolate MJ for sale for a good price in my size.

I was going to buy it just to skate but missed out on it entirely.

I have no time for white collars at work who have emotional outbursts and/or spiraling. Like how do you have so little control over your professional self. Raise questions for discussion if you want but I instantly lose respect when people have these defensive episodes

HBO Real Sports has done some good segments on youth sports.

Also, I was thinking about the college scholarship that so many parents use to justify pushing sports on their kids. I don't think the math adds up. Competitive youth sports cost lots of money, traveling for the tournaments is insanely expensive, and practices take up time. I feel just saying "I'm going to invest what I would have spent on sports" and letting the kid enjoy an activity is a smarter choice for 99.999999999999% of kids

Quote from: ChuckRamone
I love when people bring up world hunger. It makes everything meaningless.
"That guy is double parked."
"Who cares? There are people starving to death! Besides, how does that affect you? Does it lessen the joy of parking?

If it’s about college, it makes waaay more sense to just, like…study.

Also, maybe kids could just be kids for a minute? Play in the mud. Swing. Ride a bad banana board down a too-steep hill, fer chrissakes.

It was the longest hike I’d ever done. It humbled me big time. I was a fool to think I could skate afterwards. The next day was hard.

Nah, fuck ‘em! You already asked for it off? Don’t go!
Take it from somebody who’s had too many relationships go sour because I was “loyal” to my job.
