Great photos from everyone.
Stoked on your shots vihreekerma. Are those medium format?

Here's a few new ones.

Learning to use my new flash.

Same.

One of my first HDR experiments...

I made this (and some others) using a scanner for an Alternative Photography class i took last semester.

If you check back on that blog there are all kinds of shots from China's military parades and those huge choreographed displays that North Korea prides itself on that are really fucking weird to think about but amazing to look at. Can't really recommend The Big Picture enough.

And with any luck I should have some stuff to contribute to this thread again in a couple of weeks. I finally have a scanner around and should start shooting more since exams are over.

I think I'm gonna pick up my analogue cam again. I got this awesome old rolleiflex slr form my dad, with a couple of lenses as well, and I'd love to shoot with it, but the exposuremeter is broken and I tried getting it fixed, but I've been told that the needed parts are not available anymore...Maybe I'll still pick it up and use an external thing...it's supposed to be a good camera according to my dad...
I'll go frontside on some tranny for you.

Hey guys, I'm thinking about getting a Holga...what kind of holga do you use? I understannd that there are ones that shoot medium format, but also ones that shoot on regular (what is it, 35 mm?) film, of course I guess medium format would look smoother, but then again finding a place to develope it for affordable prices could be difficult. Then theres the option glass or plastic lense, I'm leaning towards plastic lense, I heard the glass one makes sharper images and has even darker corners, but I think I like the a bit blurred, smooth look of the plastic ones...I would just like to know what kind of Holga you guys are using and why...

Also they sell a Diane lomo, whats the difference picture-wise?

Sorry, I dont know much about these kinds of cameras, I just like the look of holga pics, any help would be appreciated!!

You can mod a 120 holga to shoot 35mm. Or you can buy one with a 35mm back, theyre take some cool looking photos. some might be permanent 120 or 35 im not sure. I have a friend who has a glass lens one and it works really well. The urban outfitters one are shit as far as i know if thats where you saw the diana lomo.

Evil: 120 film costs me the same as 35mm to get developed at the camera shop, somewhere around 4.99 a roll for just negatives. I have a drum scanner at school that I use though, so that saves me on printing because I usually don't print anything.

It kinda leaves you guessing if you're shooting inside, but that rule's treated my really well.

hmm, i don't know lots on digital but i guess it depends on the class? you can find a pretty cheap point and shoot with a decent amount of mega pixels or maybe a basic slr camera like the canon rebel - its a pretty common, decent camera

Right one. Stupid thing about it that it is so easy (and novelty) to do. I never use my kit zoom lens on my Nikon and broke it out the other day and was just getting all these blurry shots...so I decided to just run with it and capture some crazy shit. I photoshopped the shit out of it though to get the colors to come out that way obviously....but I figure it wasn't like I wanted to capture something that was natural looking.

They taste delicious, too...

http://www.pdnpulse.com/2009/12/this-camera-is-a-piece-of-crp.html

This Camera is a Piece of Cr*p

Complain much about your gear? Give it a rest. These kids from Uganda prove you don't need a sophisticated camera to have a love for photography.

The below "camera" is made from cow dung and broken glass for the lens. Pretty sure it's not a working model but you've got to admire the craftsmanship. Looks better than some of the stuff we saw at PMA.
