Had to instagram a bunch of photos from Buena Vista for a school project. All taken with my 4S and shitty filters applied.

i have a love hate relationship with instagram. I can get trying to help out your phone pics and make them cool lookin. That I can get behind, and when my iphone worked I used it a lot. But it also kinda bums me out when you get all psyched cross processing a new role and the first thing somebody says is, cool, looks like instagram, or how'd you get your phone pics printed? Or they just don't get that photos don't do that to themselves and there's a technique and certain gear that does that.

Well, note how I said 'shitty filters'. Normally I am fairly opposed to this type of 'editing', but for this specific assignment I had to get as many likes as possible, and people love this shit. Now that I'm typing this out I kind of hate myself and this project.

Naw man I'm not baggin on you or your project. I love holgas, and probably shoot more on my old cameras than on my digital ones. Hell, I once went through and stripped all the seals on an old slr just so I could get light leaks on shots. So I love that look. I was just saying, as somebody who's totally into stuff that looks like that, it's kinda a blessing and a curse, in that you get really cool pics right from your phone. But when you do it the real way with cross processing or leaking cameras, people just automatically assume its instagram, not something that was deliberate. That and it's less unique now. Vintage looking photos are everywhere, which kinda sucks for people like me that kinda catered to that.

Those look really sick Brian. Did you do any post production on those with the contrast to make it more black in the back or are these the unedited photos? Either way, I love how they look.

A little of both! Some editing definitely helped. But mostly natural.

Can anyone tell me if this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/COMPLETE-SET-3-X-SOFTBOX-STUDIO-LIGHT-LIGHTING-/300788878545?pt=UK_Photography_StudioEquipment_RL&hash=item46086a0cd1 plus a white backdrop would work for basic product shots? Completely clueless when it comes to studio photography. Thanks

Can't wait to see more photos! Not sure if you saw my PM a while back, but I haven't forgotten your print! It's just been a hectic few months for me. I'll send it out when I get some free time.

Currently working on a "Miniature Project" with large format. Only shot a few, but hope to do some more this week.
